"The Case for Christ:" A very timely movie for everyone

Sometimes when you seek the answers to your questions, you tend to what? Some of us ask somebody right or talk to the authorities who may have the answers (if that's what they believe and trust)?! Or perhaps search about it. But in the "The Case for Christ," what do you think, how far would one go just to seek the truth. Is Jesus Christ for real or a hoax, does his life story which was written in the bible accurate or is the bible reliable enough for us, Christians to believe everyrhing that was written in there... those are only some of the questions and doubts that the main character, Lee Strobel had in his very confused mind all along.

Mike Vogel plays Lee Strobel in the story

Lee Strobel’s award-winning bestselling book based on a true story about a hard-driving investigative journalist and avowed aethieist (Strobel, played by Mike Vogel) who applies his well-honed journalistic and legal skills to disprove the newfound Christian faith of his wife… with unexpected, life-altering results.

I believe that the setting of the movie was around 1970's since the characters were wearing bell-bottom pants and that they had this obsolete type of typewriters so meaning, Lee had a really tough time investigating and researching about Christ, he even went to every other priest, church, doctor,  and even had long distance interviews with some theologists while he was also busy doing his day job as a prime journalist.

Strobel was exactly where he expected to be at work: on top. His award-winning investigative reporting recently earned him a promotion to legal editor at the Chicago Tribune. But things weren’t going nearly as well at home where his wife Leslie’s newfound faith in Christ went against everything Lee believed—or didn’t believe—as an avowed atheist.

His pregnant better half, Leslie, played by Erika Christensen was a confused wife and mom. She was once a Catholic before she met Lee and everyrhing that she believed in about God and the whole Christianity had vanished when she met Lee. There was an instance in a restaurant where they were dining, and that incident itself made a great impact and difference in their lives!

And since then, Leslie had been attending Christian fellowships and bible-reading sessions which Lee had rejected and disapproved. There are those times that he even tried to blend in with his wife and daughter's newly-found or should I say, renewed Christianity, but still at the end, he always holds back.

Utilizing his journalistic and legal training, Lee begins a quest to debunk the claims of Christianity in order to save his crumbling marriage. Chasing down the biggest story of his career, Lee comes face-to-face with unexpected results that could change everything he knows to be true.

Life's struggles and trials could be that real hard and sometimes, we even question Him. But at the end of the day, we become stronger, if we could just learn to hold on to Him and his teachings from the bible, we will all realize that God is always with us all along actually, guiding us, teaching us how to be real Christians, how to be fulfilled as his sons and daughters and most of all, He continues to love us all unconditiomally because He is such a forgiving Father, our God the Father together with His only Son, Jesus Christ.

Leslie and Lee Strobel (for real)

This Christian film was very timely, not only for the Lenten Season or Easter, but for all of us. Here in the Philippines, we have been experiencing earthquakes, aftershocks and tremors. And to tell you the truth, while we were watching the premiere of this movie, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.4 occurred somewhere in Batangas (province) and we were all got irked by it and contacted our loved ones immediately. With all those occurrence of the natural phenomenons all across the globe, why don't we think and re-assess ourselves, we should repent and think what we have been missing and not doing in our lives which we ought to do religiously. We now have come to a realization that the Almighty God is really with us, we just all have to be tapped on and tell ourselves, "What are we doing with our lives?" "Are we living the way real Christian do?" "As children of God, do we really live up to it?" Go on now, ask ourselves... hope you could watch this film for it'll help you with life's realizations.

An ideal Easter-season movie for anyone who has pondered the existence of God and what role He could play in their lives from Pure Flix Entertainment, the people behind the 2014 box-office hit God's Not Dead
