Design students are all welcome to join at the Electrolux Design Lab 2014

Imagine this: You had an exhausting day at school and you can’t wait to get home and rest. On your way home, the weather was unpredictable and the pollution in the streets was horrible. As you enter your room, you realize that it is not as spotless as you hoped it was. You come in to the kitchen to find good food, but you find nothing on the dining table. You had a draining day and the last thing you would want to do is take care of the household chores.

As you let out a weary sigh, you realize that your home appliances can take care of all these. You see the MAB cleaner scanning your house and deploying its flying mini-robots to the areas in need of cleaning. Meanwhile, an Atonium 3D Food Printer has determined your nutritional needs and is working on a healthy meal for you. At the same time, the Breathing Wall started to purify the air while recreating an environment that will help you relive a happy memory. Imagine this futuristic scenario made possible by you.

The futuristic MAB cleaner scans the environment and deploys nano robots to clean dirty surfaces.

The Atomium 3D food printer concept, aims to promote healthy lifestyles by incorporating play into food preparation.

The  Breathing Wall filters indoor air using a cutting-edge bio-oxygen technology that eliminates contamination, odor and germs

#DearFutureMom: Your Child Will Be Happy

“What kind of life will my child have?”

A scared mom-to-be wrote to CoorDown (Coordinator of the National Association of People with Down Syndrome) when she learned she was expecting a child with Down syndrome. The organization, in collaboration with Saatchi & Saatchi Italy, responded by creating this #DearFutureMom campaign:

World Down Syndrome Day takes place on March 21st. Help spread the important message behind Dear Future Mom to help advocate the right to happiness and well-being of people with Down syndrome.

Official Hashtag: #DearFutureMom

Honestly, my tears really rolled down freely over my cheeks upon watching this very enlightening and heartfelt video, couldn't help it. I may not have any relatives with Down Syndrome but I have friends and neighbors and few people close to my heart who have the same situation as these moms and I feel them.

Truly, aren't mothers or parents like us can overcome any form of hardships and willing to do everything for the sake of our own children? If you can relate to this #DearFutureMom or moms out there, try not to worry at all. This very inspiring video conquers all your fears, questions, your doubts and your hang-ups. This is so true... every child brings joy to their parents. So give them the right to be here, to be with you and the right to be happy :)

Everyone deserves to be HAPPY!

Juan Stop Inasal: The Food Venue for everyJuan

Juan Stop Inasal is the newest food venue for everyJuan (everyone)

Juan dela Cruz is the national personification of the Philippines, often used to represent the "Filipino everyman.” This definition was derived from Wikipedia. Thus, the name of the latest "food haven" in the long stretch of N. Domingo in Quezon City, "Juan Stop Inasal" was created to deliberately cater to every Filipino's taste and culture.

"Inasal" is a term used to refer to barbecues of any kind by the Ilonggos' (from Ilo-ilo province) native tongue. They use special roasting recipe for chicken, pork, fish and other seafood as long as it's placed and roasted on a stick.

One good characteristic of Filipinos which I find amazing is that, we love to patronize our own food, every delicacy of every local place/ region that we have here in our country is being adored if not well-loved by everyJuan, even the foreign tourists had grown likeness of our delicacies, and one of which is, Bacolod's most famous, "Inasal."

Ilonggo and young owner Mr. Stephen Po, together with his wife, Charlene and their other partners, Emil Po and Lourdes Po, had decided to expand their business which was only a take-out booth counter at the far left side of the present location. According to the beautiful couple, a lot of their customers have been suggesting and requesting for a sort of a "dining" area for them to be accommodated and also to cater other people who are so fond of their grilled products, most especially their "Chicken Inasal," one of their best-sellers.

Mr. Stephen Po, General Manager and one of the owners with his lovely wife, Charlene during the bloggers' night at Juan Stop Inasal. Thank you for having us!!!

The original take-out counter is still there, hope you could visit!

Having realized the overflowing clamor and demand of the public, and even studying the pros and cons of heeding their customers' requests,  they've decided to entertain the idea and started the expansion of the business area, which was used to be a garage only, since their office is situated just right at the second level of the establishment.

Come join me in my "Juan Stop Inasal" gastronomic journey!

"Juan Stop Inasal" version of Batchoy

First, to prepare our taste buds and fuel up our appetites, we were served with Batchoy, another Ilonggo favorite dish. I enjoyed my sip of this soup since, my bowl of Batchoy was filled with crispy brown garlic (love it!). It's been a long time since I had my last taste of the authentic Batchoy, can't even remember it. :)) But this one, would definitely put a mark on my memory, the authenticity of the soup and noodles was present, so I suggest that you better order for this first thing on your table. Do I hear how much? :))

Here it is, amazing peeps! For a solo order of their Batchoy, it's priced as PhP65.00 and if you've let's say, ordered other meals from their menu, and you felt the urge of eating Batchoy, you just have to inform their very friendly staff that you're going to add Batchoy and it's only priced as PhP35.00 , cool right?

The most awaited and star of the night, Juan Stop's very own Chicken Inasal with garlic rice and atchara side dish

Finally, I can now get to try what Stephen and Charlene's been telling us about their very authentic Inasal recipe which Stephen has inherited from his grandma. In all honesty, I find it so tasty and I do agree with the owners, this is really an all-original Inasal recipe and I felt that it was all done and cooked with perfection. It was so juicy and tender at the same time, you'd notice that, everything's well-blended even the degree of roasting.

Another selling point of eating their Chicken Inasal, is that, for only PhP105.00 you can avail of the full meal, just like what you see on my plate, plus an UNLI Rice and Ice Tea! Wow, isn't that too much?! Believe me, you gotta try this! This is sooooo "sulit!"

Chopped Salt and Pepper Grilled Liempo

Juan Stop's Pork Barbecue

Chopped Hickory Grilled Liempo

We were given another three more specialties of "Juan Stop Inasal." The two variants of grilled liempos (pork belly) namely the Salt & Pepper and Hickory and the pork barbecue, which were marinated very well to suit everyJuan's taste buds. Those are not too hard, just right for a bite size partnered of course with their garlic rice.

Juan Stop's Sizzling Pork Sisig

Well, been so excited to share you this! Juan Stop Inasal's Sizzling Pork Sisig really knocked us out! What do I mean by that? We were so engaged in eating our Chicken Inasal until this one arrived on our table. By just judging from the aroma it emits, one can be tempted to lavish on this dish. I wanted to say, this dish was a scene stealer! Hahaha, no wonder, it's one of their best-sellers! Can you imagine, for only PhP130.00, you can enjoy, linger and share this and even order for another plate if you feel "bitin" hihihi just like we all did! :))

Look! The aftermath of my sizzling pork sizzling story :)) In case, I go back, this wouldn't miss my checklist, that's for sure, hope yours too! This is really a #MustTry

KBL stands for Kadyos, Baboy, Langka

Another Ilonggo dish, the KBL is primarily composed of  Kadyos (Pigeon Pea), Baboy (Pork) and Langka (Jackfruit). I wasn't able to appreciate much of this soup because this was served to us when I was truly full, aside from the fact that, it was my first time to have a taste of it as well, although from time to time, I sip on this soup and ate some langka and kadyos. I missed out on the Baboy simply because the pork sisig was so empowering :) Maybe next time, instead of having the Batchoy again, have to try this one first.

Wanna check out Juan Stop Inasal's Menu and its affordable prices?

After a fiesta-like eating adventure, we just noticed something's missing on their menu list, they don't have desserts yet, but this summer, specifically on April they will come out with it, they assure everyone.

The spacious and very native-looking ambiance is what you'll see at "Juan Stop Inasal." Special thanks to Ian Atienza for the invite and this photo.

Thank you too Kuyas for roasting our food to perfection! We know, it wasn't that simple performing your duties. Kudos to you guys! Smile,  you're on candid camera hihihi :))

The "Juan Stop Inasal" bloggers who raided the place that night (hahaha) together with the owners and Ian Atienza

with my gurlfriends/ co-bloggers who were equally happy that night, Angelyn Demo (mommysmaglife.blogspot.com), Bedalyn Aguas (mamiandfamily.blogspot.com) and Gracee Bongolan (itsmegracee.blogspot.com)

My Verdict:
Thumbs-up for "Juan Stop Inasal!" truly, the Food Venue for everyJuan.
"Talagang mapapa-stop ka sa sarap!"

King Bee Chinese Food Restaurant ready to serve you at Fisher Mall

King Bee Chinese Food  Resto now open at Fisher Mall in Quezon Ave., Quezon City

The first gastronomic experience I had at King Bee Chinese Food Restaurant was when we had a bloggers' dinner at their Commonwealth Branch. It was a very intimate dining-bonding with blogger/friends, so unforgettable and gratifying. Check my King Bee review here.

And my latest authentic Chinese Food dining at King Bee was at their newly opened branch in Fisher Mall which can be found specifically at the Upper Ground Floor, Fisher Mall, Quezon Ave. cor Roosevelt Ave., Q.C.

The newest King Bee Chinese Food at Fisher Mall blessing

It was a well-attended restaurant blessing. Guests, friends, families, media people and loyal customers of King Bee graced the said event to witness their favorite authentic Chinese Food resto chain.

Fishing magnate and Fisher Mall owner Roberto Simeon "Bobby" Del Rosario (middle) with son, Robert Raymond Del Rosario (4th from right), President of Mallers Management Corporation graced the King Bee opening and were able to do the ribbon cutting with King Bee owners.

Of course the whole restaurant blessing wouldn't be complete without the traditional throwing and showering of lucky coins with candies! It is a common belief that those coins we've gathered from every "blessing" ceremony would bring us good luck, you know, we got it from the Chinese, right? I guess we wouldn't be losing anything if we believe that notion, so I decided to keep those :))

Check out the interiors of King Bee branch in Fisher Mall

I find the seats comfortable and a bit modern among other Chinese Restos, kudos to the ones responsible for the adequate spacing and classy oriental ambiance of this place. The mocha brown or skin tone color brings so much ease to my sight, it can blend well with any other colors, generic but well-organized looking.

The authentic King Bee Chinese Food Menu. To check it out more keenly, try visiting their Facebook page.

Now we go to what's inside my plate!

I admit, I'm a Yang Chow fried rice addict! That almost half cup of Yang Chow on my plate wasn't enough for me hahaha, if you would dine in here, a cupful of this is worth PhP50, whereas for a group of 3-4, it's PhP150. I was able to fill myself with more of the Pan Fried Prawns with Salted Egg Yolk (upper right side of my plate) this was really a knock out if you would ask me. Per order of this is worth PhP420, a bit pricey right? But you'll surely fall in love with it too! It's worth it, it's prawn, anyway :))

Our King Bee dimsum and dessert plate

What I also love and enjoy with King Bee is their dimsums, most especially the siomai! I get to share my King Bee dimsum and dessert plate with my co-blogger friend, Gracee Bongolan of itsmegracee.blogspot.com. She enjoyed  Buchi (PhP70) so much because of it's softness, ample sweetness and it was rolled in a bountiful coconut flakes. We also had the crunchy biscuits topped with sugar and King Bee's Chicken Feet (PhP70).

with my King Bee Chinese Food co-bloggers and friends

We were able to occupy the Al Fresco dining at King Bee branch in Fisher Mall. As you could see, we were facing the Quezon Ave. part, (note the visible landmarks amazing peeps!) which made our lunch a lot more exciting aside from the fact that we ate like kings and queens in this feast-like long table.

King Bee Chinese Food Restaurant serves that flavorful and authentic Chinese cuisine that most of us crave for, from their appetizing selection of dimsums, to their tummy filling dishes like the King Bee Fried Chicken, more with their mouthwatering soup, and to their healthy Mixed Fruit Platter.  Don't forget the flavourful noodles for long life, their different rice toppings and other cuisines.

So come and visit King Bee Chinese Food Restaurant at Fisher Mall which is now ready to serve you, valued patrons.

Coco and Kim, excited with their Grand TV reunion via "Ikaw Lamang"

Kim Chiu and Coco Martin reunited in "Ikaw Lamang"

Teleserye King Coco Martin and Teleserye Princess Kim Chiu are both excited about their highly anticipated return to worldwide television through ABS-CBN’s upcoming drama series “Ikaw Lamang,” premiering March 10 on The Filipino Channel (TFC) (March 11 in Australia, Guam and New Zealand).

“It’s been a while since Kim and I worked together in ‘Tayong Dalawa’ and ‘Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo.’  That’s why I’m happy and blessed to be given the chance to reunite with her in a new teleserye,” said Martin about his newest leading lady in the Kapamilya network’s once-in-a-lifetime TV event.

Chiu, meanwhile, admitted that she is having mixed emotions about her new project and her new team-up with Martin.  Chiu’s last primetime TV show was the hit family series “Ina Kapatid, Anak,” while Martin starred in the superhero-serye “Juan dela Cruz."

“Aside from the excitement, I feel nervous and pressured especially because the cast of ‘Ikaw Lamang’ is really full of brilliant actors and actresses.  I can say that this is the most challenging role and project that I’ve ever had,” she shared.

“Ikaw Lamang” will unravel the love story of childhood friends Samuel (Martin) and Isabelle (Chiu), whose fate will be tested by time and their clashing families.
