The "Best Fair Ever" and "Best Ending Ever" of "Got to Believe", trending!

"Got to Believe" sweethearts Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla

After almost seven months of consistent trending worldwide and rearing the highest ratings in its own time slot, the magical love story of Joaquin and Chichay will soon come to an end. A lot of comments, appeals and speculations had been brought up since the #BestEndingEver countdown of one of the most-loved teleseryes in the television history was announced. I can still remember Kim Chiu and Xian Lim's fairly successful "My Binondo Girl," which aired from August of 2011 'til January of 2012, the viewing public were all clamoring for an extension and even speculating for a sequel. The same situation is happening to "Got to Believe," the avid viewers, including myself :)) , fans and supporters of #KathNiel still feel "bitin" (hanging and wanting for more) about the story.

During the "Got to Believe" finale presscon held just recently at ELJ building in ABS-CBN compound, the whole lead cast, minus Mama Bear (Manilyn Reynes) were all present including the "Mean Girls" and the glamour boys of the said series.

"Got to Believe" cast and directors (L-R): Direk Richard Arellano, Ian Veneracion, Carmina Villaroel, Kathryn Bernardo, direk Cathy Garcia-Molina, Daniel Padilla, Liza Soberano and Benjie Paras

Current cast of "Got to Believe" from left to right: Jon Lucas (Dominic), Yves Flores (Pedro), Alex Diaz (Kit), Chienna Filomeno (Amanda), Angel Gonzales (Miley), Trina "Hopia" Legaspi (Lindsay), Kristel Fulgar (Didith) and Ingrid dela Paz (Patricia)

I admit, in this stage of my life, I couldn't help but to feel "kilig" (giggle) whenever I watch #KathNiel during weeknights on "Got to Believe!" Kudos to the creative team, whole staff, writers and directors Cathy Garcia-Molina, Richard Arellano and Ricky Rivero who simply seemed to really know how to tickle the viewers and be glued every #G2B episode.

Direk Cathy has high regard to this project and firmly believe this would really reach the highest level as it is today, she said, "I got excited po working on a project that tells a story about teens... first love, kasi po mga nadi-direct ko in the past hindi first love eh, mga sina John Lloyd age na. Na-excite ako kasi ngayon lang ako magkukwento ng first love, parang di ko 'to nadaanan for how many years in show business."

Direk Cathy Garcia-Molina during the "Got to Believe" finale presscon #BestEndingEver

On the hottest love team in town, #KathNiel, direk Cathy frankly said, "Ako po I think they like each other and ako,  I want them to like each other. They look good together, kumbaga kung mag roroot ako, sana nga may mangyari (she laughs)! Pero ako po, I see more than friendship noh, but I'm not saying anything na parang 'relationship' pero kasi ang tagal na ring nilang nagkasama, tapos grabeng friendly ng dalawang ito eh kaya nga siguro lahat naging kaibigan, kahit 'yung mga 'triangle' na ineexpect ko magkakaron ng antagonism, wala po. So how much more kung sila, ano po sila eh parang laging magkadikit." So what can you comment about that, KathNiel fans and supporters? Isn't that a "kilig" statement, especially coming from direk Cathy herself! :))

Since "Got to Believe" is nearing its end, what could the lead stars Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla has to say about it?

Kathryn Bernardo (Chichay Tampipi) during "Got to Believe" #BestEndingEver presscon

Daniel Padilla (Joaquin/ Ryan San Juan) during "Got to Believe" #BestEndingEver presscon

The #BestEndingEver of "Got to Believe" is yet to happen March 7. For all of you who'd been rearing to know, if there would be any "kissing scene," or would Kathryn and Daniel will finally have their "on screen kiss" together, just don't fail to watch the #BestEndingEver of #G2B okay? :))

For the meantime, let's focus first on the #BestFairEver of "Got to Believe" that'll soon to happen on March 2, this Sunday at Makati Circuit from 8AM to 5PM. This is dedicated to the "G2B Army" that is composed of young solid supporters of the Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla-starrer.

FILA SUPPORTS THE ARTS.

What happens when a young gay man falls in love with a woman? That’s the central conceit behind Red Turnip Theater’s second offering, COCK by Mike Bartlett. A sold-out hit when it first premiered in London in 2009 and subsequently during its off-Broadway run a year later, COCK revolves around a gay couple whose rocky relationship derails when one of them sleeps (and falls in love) with a woman. Debates over one’s sexual identity explode when all three decide to sit down and “duke it out” over dinner. Hilarity ensues when another unexpected guest turns up and loyalties are put to the test. As one character puts it, “It’s the ultimate bitch fight”.

The New York Times calls COCK “a terrific, tense little comedy” while The Huffington Post hails it as “a terrific contemporary play that puts much of other theatre to shame”. This critical darling is the perfect bookend to Red Turnip’s maiden season.

Fresh off the success of their critically-acclaimed CLOSER last October at Whitespace, Red Turnip promises another unique, in your face theatrical experience with COCK. The vision of five estab-lished actors (Ana Abad Santos, Topper Fabregas, Jenny Jamora, Cris Villonco and Rem Zamora), Red Turnip aims to engage theatergoers with the sort of material that seems to be in short supply in the country—the straight play.

Rem Zamora makes his directorial debut with COCK.“We’re excited to be back in Whitespace. A lot of people who came to CLOSER said they enjoyed the intimacy of the experience and the space. That was in Hall B. We’re going even more intimate this time in the smaller Hall A. COCK also plays in the round so it feels like you’re watching a fight in an arena—no frills: just words and pure conflict in the ring, and an intense involvement in the audience.”

Zamora has assembled a tight cast of theatrical heavyweights for COCK’s Manila premier: Topper Fabregas (Boeing Boeing, The Producers), Niccolo Manahan (Next Fall, Doubt), Jenny Jamora (Mind’s Eye, A Little Night Music), Audie Gemora (Sweeney Todd, Les Miserables) Fabregas is John, a young man caught between his gay lover and his growing attraction to an-other woman- W, played by Jamora.
Niccolo Manahan makes a theatrical comeback as M, John’s lover who isn’t about to let him go without a fight. “I feel ‘Cock’ will be a great experiment for me; an experiment in balancing my life with the things I enjoy doing, and an experiment in pushing my range. I don’t know where this ex-periment will lead but its an incredible opportunity that I’m thankful for.”

Rounding off this impressive cast is theatre stalwart Audie Gemora as F, M’s well-meaning father whose sudden appearance at dinner throws everyone for a loop. “The birth of a theater group is always exciting and eventful with fresh artistic vision and passion. I am thrilled to be part of Red Turnips 2nd offering, ‘Cock’. This is Rem Zamora's directorial debut and my first time to be acting opposite brilliant young actors Niccolo Manahan and Jenny Jamora, while Topper Fabregas takes on his most complex character yet. Together we jump into a crackling cock fight of personalities, emotions and words.”

COCK is a comedy… with bite. No props, scenery or furniture. Just actors, sharp dialogue and some clever staging. All essential. Absolutely Red Turnip.

COCK is supported by FILA through the kindness of its President and owner Cris Albert. Supporting the arts has become one of her numerous advocacies, a true testament to her generous spirit and her commitment to giving back to the community.

Direction by Rem Zamora, technical direction and lighting design by John Batalla, set design by Denis Lagdameo and sound design by Jethro Joaquin.

Cock will be staged at Whitespace — 2314 Chino Roces Ave. Extension (formerly Pasong Tamo Extension), Makati — on March 7, 14, 21, 28 and April 4 (Friday, 9 p.m.); March 8, 15, 29 and April 5 (Saturday, 8 p.m.); April 5, Saturday at 4 p.m.; March 9, 16, 23 and April 6 (Sunday, 4 p.m.) and special closing gala on April 6, Sunday, 8 p.m. Tickets are available through TicketWorld (891-9999 or www.ticketworld.com.ph) Or Red Turnip Theater (redturniptheater@gmail.com or https://www.facebook.com/RedTurnipTheater)

Be true to yourself! Join the #Selfie Challenge & win a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3.0

#Selfie is one of the most used terminologies in social network. It's a self-portrait photograph done artistically or in any angle the self-taker wishes to execute be it comfy or not. Talking about being comfortable, lemme ask you one question, "Are you being true yourself?"

In 2012, Time magazine included the word "selfie" among its Top 10 buzzwords of the year. Last year, "selfie" not only earned its inclusion in the dictionary but was also chosen as word of the year by the Oxford English Dictionary.

From Hollywood and local celebrities, athletes, and even politicians, “selfies” have seemingly become the norm in social networking sites, making up a majority of the pictures taken by smartphone users---both young and old.

Its appeal not only lies on just how easy it is to create and share, but because it also gives self-photographers control on how they present themselves. Presenting yourself to get “likes” and be noticed by your peers, however, can often be quite different from who you really are. And there lies the problem with selfies—when it becomes more of a projection rather than a reflection of who you really are.

But there is a rising online movement, a growing surge of positivity that urges the youth to be true to themselves. To accept who they are, and be proud of what they have become.
The mysterious website "www.showit-off.com" centers on the hashtag #showitoff, and calls for everyone to post their selfies that showcase who they really are, their unique fashion style, their true sexuality, their real passion — raw, unedited, honest.

You were born unique. You were created to stand out. Don’t just Be In. Its more about Being True. Being You. It's time to unleash the real you. Unleash your reality! #showitoff

Fail Proof your Future: Read how AXA Philippines can help you

Mixed emotions... that's what I felt upon hearing celebrity mom, Ms. Camille Prats' testimony about her ordeal and her husband's struggles vs. life upon confirming of her husband's diagnosis which was stage 4 Nasopharyngeal cancer. Camille's late husband, Anthony Linsangan, was nearly 30 years old then, when diagnosed with the said disease. At the very young age of 26, Camille became a widow, she had to pass through the toughest and most painful times of their lives with her husband as he fought the agony and afflictions brought by all the treatments (chemo and radiation). Thank God, Camille and the rest of her family had successfully passed the down moments of their life and after two years, she was able to speak about everything and calmly shared to us of her feelings as well as what she had gone through.

GMA News TV show, MARS host, Camille Prats during AXA  health campaign, "Fail Proof your Future" held at Ascott in Makati City

(L-R) Dr. Renzo Guinto, Independent Consultant, Ms. Camille Prats and Usec. Teodoro Herbosa, Department of Health during the AXA Philippines health caompaign

Possessing a dauntless attitude, Camille was so relaxed and already moved on regarding her past. She and her late hubby, Anthony had a wonderful kid named Nathaniel Caesar. She said, "In a way, we're lucky because we had our savings, unlike, perhaps, many people. But even Anthony knew we couldn't spend everything on him because we had Nathan (her son) to think about."

I totally agree with her too also when she said that, "What I learned is that you don't have to be old or sickly for anything bad to happen to you. Fighting a disease is, in fact, expensive." The actress/ tv host also shared that, they were so thankful because her late hubby's family had helped them financially to sustain Anthony's treatment. Well, lucky for them, right? What about in the case of other individuals who doesn't have much earnings and savings to sustain such expensive treatments or any other inflicted diseases?

That is why AXA Philippines, one of the country’s largest and fastest growing life insurance companies, is helping Filipinos prepare for the threat of future major medical emergencies by launching three (3) new products that provide adequate coverage to Filipinos when they face a critical illness.

How healthy are the Filipinos, really?

According to statistics from the Department of Health (DOH), non-communicable diseases (NCDs) or lifestyle diseases such as heart attack or heart failure, stroke, and cancer are the top 3 leading causes of death among Filipinos.

Digging deeper into the numbers, it is reported that more than 276 Filipinos die of heart disease on a daily basis. Moreover, 9 people are diagnosed with cancer every hour, and 142 Filipinos die from cancer every day. At least one Filipino suffers from stroke every 9 minutes; for those who survive, they have a 75% chance of becoming permanently disabled.

While there may be increasing public awareness to preventing these diseases through diet and exercise, little is done to raise awareness for Filipinos to prepare financially for the impact of having any of these lifestyle diseases.

The cost for heart by-pass surgery, chemotherapy, or brain surgery ranges from P500,000 to as much as P1,000,000, an amount that most regular health plans cannot cover. Moreover, it is estimated that medical costs are expected to double in the next 10 years --- a rate much higher than economic inflation.

Mr. Rien Hermans, President & CEO of AXA Philippines (photo credit to asianjournal.com)

“We want to give customers what they need,” says Rien Hermans, President & CEO of AXA Philippines. “With the health trends in the Philippines and in most countries today, the risk of developing a critical illness is now higher than ever. Therefore, people should be protecting themselves from the financial impact of being diagnosed with a critical illness.”

Health Exentials is a simple, all-in-one health and protection plan that gives the greatest value at an affordable price. For as low as P59/day, customers can get P5.5 million worth of comprehensive benefits, which include a critical conditions benefit, total & permanent disability benefit, daily hospitalization income benefit, a one-time surgical benefit, and a maturity cash benefit. Health Exentials premiums can be as low as only P1,140 a month or P39/day.

Health Max provides maximum lifetime coverage as it gives medical benefits until age 100. It also has the widest coverage of illnesses in the market today, covering 56 major medical conditions and 18 minor illnesses. Early stage cancer diagnosis and angioplasty, not normally covered by other health plans, are included in Health Max. It also has higher medical benefits of up to P10 million, as well as a special Advanced Health Fund that starts at age 70, which can be used for various medicines and treatments most common at that age.

SME ProteXion caters to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with at least 10 employees. It offers health and protection packages-in-one with various benefit options to choose from such as critical care coverage, daily hospitalization income, life insurance coverage and death and disablement coverage. This simple and straightforward product has flexible payment options to suit your business budget.

"Now i'm in the process of getting my own health insurance because I want to have the peace of mind that whatever happens to me, the money we saved for Nathan's future will only be for him." --- Camille Prats

Catch Josh Holloway in "Intelligence" every Tuesday

I've always been fascinated by action packed, spy-type, thriller, dramatic series like that of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation most especially CSI: Miami which aired on CBS. Well, I must admit, I'm a big fan of romantic-comedy (romcom) movies/ stories but I also enjoy watching crime and investigative materials, you know, stories that will tickle our minds to the extreme. :))

RTL CBS Entertainment has been launched just last year September 1, 2013 and is owned and produced by RTL Group and CBS Studios International. The said companies had joined and ventured to form RTL CBS Asia Entertainment Network for Southeast Asia. Amazing as its featured shows, they entertain their audience and broadcast them all in High Definition (HD)! This network can be seen in our local cable channel 53 for Sky Cable subscribers.

When I received an invitation from a friend, Meg Sebastian of Viva Communications, Inc., I really got excited when she said, we'll be watching the pilot episode of Josh Holloway in the dramatic, thriller, spy series entitled "Intelligence." The media film showing was held at Luxent Hotel along Timog Ave., Quezon City.

It was a fun and very thrilling noontime experience after having watched Intelligence's pilot episode. From its high ranking and up-to-date story line, to its characters and visual/ virtual effects down to the fast paced confrontation and breathtaking action scenes, I know you'd be glued to your tv sets too! The whole cast were just perfect for me, Meghan Ory who resembles Hollywood actress, Teri Hatcher is so comfortable and fitting to her character as Riley Neal, the Protector.

Josh Holloway (Gabriel) and Meghan Ory (Riley Neal) in one of their scenes in "Intelligence"

In an interview in Hollywood, Marg Helgenberger who plays Lilian Strand in "Intelligence" said, "It's James Bond meets Frankenstein meets Mission Impossible." See how intriguing "Intelligence" is?

How did a "microchip" get involved in the story? Well, it's for you to find out amazing peeps! Watch "Intelligence" every Tuesday at 9:55 PM over Channel 53 for Sky Cable. Don't miss its pilot episode tonight!

Here's a brief background of "Intelligence"

A dramatic thriller starring Josh Holloway as Gabriel, a high-tech intelligence operative enhanced with a super-computer microchip in his brain. With this implant, Gabriel is the first human ever to be connected directly into the worldwide information grid and have complete access to Internet, WiFi, telephone and satellite data. He can hack into any data center and access key intel in the fight to protect the United States from its enemies. Leading the elite government cyber-security agency created to support him is Director Lillian Strand (Marg Helgenberger), a straightforward and efficient boss who oversees the unit’s missions. Strand assigns Riley Neal (Meghan Ory), a Secret Service agent, to protect Gabriel from outside threats, as well as from his own appetite for reckless, unpredictable behavior and his disregard for protocol. Other skilled members of the Cybercom team include Chris Jameson (Michael Rady) and Gonzalo "Gonzo" Rodriguez (James Martinez), two resourceful federal investigators. The brains behind the design of the chip is Dr. Shenendoah Cassidy (John Billingsley), whose son, Nelson (PJ Byrne), is jealous of Gabriel’s prominent place in his father’s life.
