Before the awarding proper starts, we've seen Jericho Rosales arrived with his girlfriend, Kim Jones and also another OPM's pride, Aiza Seguerra came in across our place where we were seated.

We were never wrong when we've thought that Aiza will be performing that night. It was an ice-breaker when she held her guitar and performed on stage with all-girl band, General Luna.

And with that, everyone inside the NBC tent had reacted and we all had a great laugh. The main reason for this was, Alex was nominated twice in the same category for her strong performances in her two movies, Mater Dolorosa and Santa Niña. Bravo Alex!!!

Aiza Seguerra & Noel Cabangon together in "Tambayan Hits" The Concert Series

Filipinos love to hang around... we all love to hang around (tambay) with friends or peers while jamming with them to make it more fun, enjoyable and of course to experience "bonding" the "Pinoy" way, right? And in this same note, Brainbox Co., Inc. has come up with a brilliant idea of bringing the award-winning acoustic singer/ actress Aiza Seguerra and another renowned artist -  the folk singer and composer, Noel Cabangon together in a very exclusive, and rare concert entitled "Tambayan Hits," The Concert Series. This show will be held at Onstage Theatre, 2nd floor, Greenbelt 1, Paseo de Roxas, Makati City on two consecutive nights, June 21 & 22, 2013 at 8pm.

Mr. Noel Cabangon

Relax... jam with them, chill... laugh with them, or you can even dance, have a fun-filled interactive night at the usual "tambayan" that we've known, that's the 'Tambayan Hits" spirit! We could expect a lot of collaboration between Aiza and Noel here, that's never happened before. Your wishlist of their famous tracks could be there too, so why not check them out and experience super cool "jamming" with Aiza and Noel.

As Noel Cabangon said in one of his interviews during the show's blogcon, "I'm very fortunate to have been chosen by Irish (producer), and also to collaborate and also have this back to back with Aiza. I'm very excited about this concept, it's a collaboration but it's not really the "back to back" thing na you do your thing, I'll do mine. We're going to be practically on stage the whole time."

We'd be expecting more laid back type of entertainment in this concert, songs from different eras, we can all just be ourselves and more surprises awaits everyone because it's creatively and tastefully done, according to Ms. Irish Buenafe, the show's producer. A worthwhile concert that we can relate to, an unforgettable "tambayan" session that would surely strike you with their latest arrangements. The show is directed by Mike Villegas.

See you there!!!

You can buy your tickets at:

For your reference and convenience, here's the venue's MAP :))

Mr. Noel Cabangon invites all of you...

Watch Julia Barretto in her very first dramatic role in MMK

Showbiz royalty and one of Star Magic's newest and rising talents, Julia Barretto, will be seen doing a dramatic role for the very first time in ABS-CBN's longest-running drama anthology, "Maalaala Mo Kaya." She wil give life to Alex, a daughter in conflict who grew up in a complete and happy family. Her life reaches a turning point when her mother leaves them for another man because of her father's drug addiction. Before her family gets even more broken, Alex eventually decides to forgive her father. She works hard to prove to her mother that their family will still be happy without her. Will she be able to find peace in her heart by rendering forgiveness to her mother? According to Julia, the big word here was "forgiveness" and giving second chance. And she believes she had given her best in this episode and the final scene with her father (James) is really something to watch out to.

During Julia's MMK (Maalaala Mo Kaya) blog conference with us, she'd talked about direk Dado Lumibao, their director for this episode, " For this MMK episode, super great, parang I felt like, parang nawala 'yung pressure, parang he made me feel like okay lang to make mistakes and in this experience you will learn talaga a lot, especially na bago pa lang ako, right? And he was there naman to guide me especially sa mga scenes na talagang heavy, he would talk to me, s'yempre we have the E.P. who helped me sa mga crying scenes, they were all very easy on me naman."

Julia also related her feelings about this MMK episode on Saturday, she said, "I'm really scared nga on Saturday, 'coz that's when... parang judgement day (she laughs), like that's when all lahat ng feedback, lahat ng opinions, parang lahat dun mangyayari, so I'm very nervous pero I hope everyone will like it.

What is Julia Barretto like in real life? "Actually wala ngang medyo difference on Julia on cam and off cam. Kaya nga palagi akong sinasabihan na ang "girly-girly" ko daw, ang arte-arte ko, kasi off cam, I am but I have a very "boyish" side also na siguro hindi pa nakikita and may pagka-weird din ako (haha), I can joke around also... wala, wala masyado pinagkaiba. I think whoever I am on cam, I'm also like that off cam, parang I'm like the "be yourself" type kasi, I don't wanna pretend. I think that's what's gonna make you unique and different from the rest. Kasi if you're just gonna be yourself, bawal 'yung on cam you're like everybody else, parang hindi ka magsastand-out di'ba? That's the last thing you wanna be... be like that," she said.

Threading the life of a typical Pinoy teener, Julia admits not having a night life, her mom told her that it's still not proper for her to be seen in bars or clubs, but she perfectly understands her mom's words, she affirms, it's not the right time for her yet. Since a lot of suitors and admirers propagating around the very wholesome and lovely young lass, Julia was so kind enough and open to say that Julian Estrada, her co-talent in Star Magic and son of Sen. Jinggoy Estrada and Precy Vitug is the closest to her so far. She loves to munch on classic cheese pizza and she likes to visit fans' and followers' twitter pages whenever she has time and sometimes she replies on DMs (Direct Messages) and was able to meet up some of her fans just recently.

What type of sister is Julia Barretto to her siblings? "Feeling ko ako 'yung pinakamalambing. Pinaka-vocal na 'I love them,' kinukulit ko sila especially kapag di ko sila masyado nakikita, I'm very malambing. Close ako sa lahat eh and pwede akong kakuwentuhan, pero pag may boyfriend- boyfriend na, like my little sister, that's when I'm strict na parang, 'wala munang boyfriend,' she's too young. S'yempre takot ako for her to have a boyfriend. Pero fun sister ako," she said. Julia also told us that her whole family, especially her mom, were super excited already to watch her on MMK, they were also crying from the episode's teaser. She was so happy that her whole family were very supportive in promoting her MMK episode tonight and they're all looking forward to watching it altogether in their home with some invited close friends of the family; it would be like a sort of "special screening," according to her.

Julia's lovely face and attributes is a mixture of the prettiest faces here in our showbiz, she got it from her mom, Marjorie Barretto, her aunt Gretchen and from her youngest aunt, Claudine. Seeing her and talking to her personally had really confirmed a lot of things in my mind about her. She got her pleasant voice from Claudine, but a bit softer and "malambing." Her laugh echoed like that of Gretchen's, and she giggles like her mom. I took shots of her in different angles, one could evidently see her mom's and two aunts' beautiful images in her. So could you imagine being a Julia Barretto? She also told us that aside from acting, she loves dancing and with regards to singing, she's willing to practice more. :)) She hopes to do serious and dramatic portrayals in the future like that of her aunt Claudine's role in "Anak."

In her tender age, I find Julia strong-willed, patient, grounded, brave and very much determined to really make a great impression and prove her worth more than anyone else in the local scene. Julia had started her showbiz journey when she was just a little kid, now that she's back, she wanted to fulfill her dreams and according to her, "When you believe in your dreams, or when you really pray, parang God will give you more than what you imagined or prayed for pa, and I've learned na, in this journey, there will always be bad people (haha, I sound like a kid), but you have to stay strong and you have to know when the negative comments are useful and when negative comments are something na you have to block." 'Atta girl!

So this June 15, tonight, in "Maalaala Mo Kaya," after "Wansapanatym," we could all witness Julia, she's not the cute girl that we've known before, but today, she'll be recognized as a lovely, 16 year-old very promising teenstar, out to make it on her own and aspires to be successful in this field. Let's all find out how would this pretty and youngest member of the Barretto clan spread her wings and turn into a beautiful butterfly. Joining her in this very touching episode were prime actors like Ara Mina, James Blanco, Jacob Dionisio, Tommy Abuel, Manuel Chua, Kristoff Meneses, Marikit Morales, and Yda Yaneza. This episode was researched by Akeep Jordan del Rosario, written by Mark Angos, at direksyon ni Dado Lumibao.

Top 10 Visa Misconceptions

The thought of working or studying away from your country of origin comes with tons of facts involving the processes, the laws or policies governing each country and certain misconceptions.
For certain visa application you can easily visit the embassy or a representative of the country you may want to visit or work to.  You may want to seek assistance from offices who does services of immigration or visa consultancy companies such as Global Visas.

Before you get scrupulous over some details in your visa application, let’s bust a few misconceptions about getting visas.
1.  All EU states are governed under the Schengen agreement.
The Schengen zone includes 22 EU member states and covers more than 400 million people. All the EU states are included except Great Britain, Ireland, Cyprus, Romania and Bulgaria. Four European non-EU members - Iceland, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Norway - have acceded to the agreement.
This however is the prevailing truth, once someone enters the Schengen zone, he or she can travel freely without visas, and without having passports checked at borders.
2.  All nationality needs to get Schengen Visas if they want to work or tour Europe.
North Americans, most South Americans, Australians and Japanese are admitted without a visa for three months (90 days).
3.   You can apply to any embassy as long as they give Schengen Visas.
You need to be certain on the countries you are getting your passport stamped on.
That is why, visa applications must be lodged at the Embassy/Consulate of the country of intended visit. If your plan is to visit several countries, visa application must be made at the Embassy/Consulate of the main destination country—meaning the length of stay in this destination is the longest. If the length of stay in each country is almost the same, apply at the country of first entry.
4.  If you have a valid US Visa, you can  reside in the U.S. for that entire period.
The terms “visa” and “status” are often used loosely and even interchangeably.  However, failure to clearly understand the differences between these words can lead to unintended immigration consequences.
Visa is your point of entry to the country, but does not determine you admissibility.
An alien’s status is classified under the category of admission (such as visitor, student, intra-company worker) and the duration of stay permitted.   Thus, your stay permission is dependent on the kind of status you have.
5.   UK and Ireland  is in Europe, thus you can freely cross border  coming from other European countries.    Note that the UK and Ireland are not a part of the Schengen agreement.  Coming from other countries in Europe, you need to apply for Irish or UK Visa.
6.  Does that mean that UK and Ireland people need to get Schengen visa to go to other European countries?
While the UK and Ireland are not part of the Schengen area, their citizens can stay indefinitely in other EU countries, only needing paperwork if they want to work long-term or take up residency.
7.  What are the rules for working in France? I’ve heard that I have no hope of getting a work permit.
European Union citizens can legally work in France. Foreigners outside of the EU must do the following, in this order : find a job, obtain a work permit, obtain a visa de long séjour, go to France, and  apply for a carte de séjour.
8.  It is legal to work in the U.S. on a visitor's visa.
Visitor’s visas do not authorize employment in the U.S. In order to work, a person needs a working visa, called an H-1B visa or some other type of work authorization. H-1B working visas are for college graduates who will work in a job related to their college degree. This visa is valid for 3 years, with a 3-year extension, for a total of 6 years.
9. Getting a valid airline ticket booked while applying for a certain visa can help with the approval of visas.
No agencies have advised that a visa applicant make any travel plans, including purchase of air tickets, unless their visa was cleared by the consulate.
10.  Applying a Visa on your own is easy and cheaper.
Have you ever found dealing with the government easy? We bet not. All over the world citizens find government bureaucracies frustrating, annoying and insulting. It may have something to do with their virtual unaccountability, their lack of skill and experience or maybe, to be honest, they just do not care!

The processing is tedious and may require you to spend a lot of time waiting.  However, there are trusted agencies like Global Visas who can deal with this for you.  They can actually make them care for you having known the laws for that.  Global Visas can make applying Visas easy for you.

Global Visas has won for its clients the most difficult battles as far as visa facilitation is concerned, such as immigration to Australia. The expertise of the Global Visas team allows it to deliver the best quality service in the lodgment of spousal, fiancée, tourist and working visas. The company holds the distinct advantage of having personnel in destination countries as well as constant updating of visa regulations in these areas: the USA, Canada, UK and other parts of Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Asian territories. Sangobion brings Giselle Sanchez as the "Salaminkera" at SM Megamall on June 9!

Ms. Giselle Sanchez during her media preview of "Salaminkera"

Wonder what "Salaminkera" means? It coined from the Filipino word "salamingkera" which means a lady magician or wizard. Salaminkera is most fitting for those who love mincing words and always being told the truth.

Last May 30, I, together with some other bloggers, media people and guests had a nice and fun time to fortunately watch the beauteous comedienne, Ms. Giselle Sanchez, in her very educational and entertaining comedy act held at the Conservatory of the Peninsula Manila. The show was organized to promote the awareness of iron deficiency that predominantly occurs in 3 out of 5 women of reproductive age. Compliments to Sangobion, because through the "Salaminkera" show, we were able to be reminded to take care of our health especially in our case as a busy, working, multi-tasking mom who's always "on the go."

Ms. Giselle Sanchez touring us around the globe during her show

And because we've to keep up with the fast pace of time in this new generation, we sometimes overlook our health condition. During the show, Ms. Giselle had pointed out about the three signs of iron deficiency that includes lack of focus, looking pale and always feeling fatigued. We often take these signs for granted, right? Sangobion hopes to help women be more empowered in their everyday lives not to mention be more conscious about our lifestyle. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), iron deficiency anemia is the most common nutritional disorder in the entire world particularly among women and children.

Iron is a necessary element for optimum health. It is needed to replace blood loss during menstrual cycles, cure bouts of dizziness caused by anemia, correct weariness and fatigue, help gain more focus & concentration, and aid in periods of gestation, lactation, pregnancy, and such periods surrounding childbirth. It is also required for the normal functioning of the immune system. Some sources of iron in our daily diet include red meat, eggs, liver, oatmeal, nuts, as well as food supplements and formulations like Sangobion.

That's the main reason why Sangobion had chosen Ms. Giselle Sanchez as the talent for the show because she represents the modern Sangobion woman. She is an epitome of a beautiful, sexy, active, happy, loving wife, mother of two, and an established career woman. Being a regular Sangobiom user herself, she's been able to hurdle all the challenges that women usually face from her love life, family life beauty and personal life. “These days, women play multiple roles. These overlapping tasks can take its toll on your health, making you haggard and tired, especially if you’re breastfeeding. Women need balance juggling all of these acts. Drained energy will leave women feeling empty and tired. Luckily, iron supplement Sangobion is there to help us,” shared the multi-talented comedienne.

"Salaminkera" was inspired by the evil queen from the timeless tale of Snow White, as the well-loved comedienne tackles the issues relevant to today's women, she plays the truthful "woman in the mirror (salamin)" Complete with dance, musical and acting production, Ms. Giselle was able to carry the whole show which deserves an encore in the near future, or a sequel perhaps. :)) Kudos to the organizers of the whole show, they were able to emphasize also the importance of iron supplement in our body- Ms. Giselle interviewed her guests just like what usually occurs in a regular talk show while they were seating on a red, lovely couch. That part of the show was so informative; her lines and jokes were delivered in very witty and funny way even her gestures and her guests' reactions to every situation blended so well. I can never forget her fave line from the show, "Remember, I am not here to criticize!"

Ms. Giselle Sanchez, "Ang prangka na salamin nguni't palengkera!" :))

One of her wacky acts during the show

Hahaha She's so funny with a giant "compact" face powder that was literally on her.

"Salaminkera," talking to one of her guests

"Salaminkera" was being informed everything about Sangobion and its great effects

Another portion of the show which am sure, the audience would really enjoy watching was when Ms. Giselle, together with her dancers performed a spoof cover of  "Gwiyomi," inspired by the Korean trending music video. That was so funny and wacky; her lyrics was so creatively done to put a rhyme with their topic and the Korean song itself, hahaha! We all had a great laugh! :D
