Flex your Furbabies with these No-Fail TikTok hacks

A viral cat video has been making the rounds in social media which featured the 1954 song “Mr. Sandman” by the Chordettes matched with a 9-split screen TikTok filter. Some users even captioned it as the “best thing on the internet today.”
Days after, it was a corgi doing the same routine and Filipino netizens can’t help but share the overwhelming cuteness of these furry creatures. No doubt the  koala version would go viral, too.
But why do Pinoys fancy pet videos and memes?
Our appreciation and love for animals is so great that the Philippines ranked 5th in dog ownership worldwide based from the statistics of Australian pet insurer, Petsecure. There is an estimated 11.6M dogs who have Pinoy pet parents. Bantay (guard) and Muning are no longer common names for dogs and cats, respectively. We now give “hooman” names to our pets and treat them as part of the family.
This extreme fascination extends to our appreciation to pet memes and videos. Adults can agree that in the midst of the hectic schedule and overwhelming workload, a cat meme is a visual stress ball.
Why not take your meme game to the next level create the next viral pet video? Here’s how:
DOWNLOAD the TikTok app which is available for iOS and Android.
SOUND: Tap ”Discover” and search for “Mr. Sandman”. You know you have the right song if it starts with a rhythmic clapping.
FILTER: Some TikTok accounts have the 9 screen Delay filter. In the latest version though, if you weren’t able to save the Delay filter, the closest you get is the Hexa-Delay which is limited to a 6 split screen effect. Don’t worry because it will still be equally fun and entertaining.
SHOOT: Record the video in a safe space where your furry friend will likely be comfortable. Remember, this video is about having fun and bonding with your pets. No animal or human shall be harmed.
Hit the record button and enjoy! If you don’t get the timing right the first time, you can always retake. Or just leave it as it is. Pets have a way to make challenge fails cute and adorable!
SHARE: Of course, the whole world can’t get enough of animal videos that’s already in the internet! Upload your video on TikTok and use the hashtag #MrSandmanChallenge so other users can easily track your video. Go and flex your furbabies!

The "Gamols" are back via Viva Films' "Sanggano, Sanggago't Sanggwapo"

August 26, 2019

"Sanggano, Sanggago't Sanggwapo" lead stars (L-R): Janno Gibbs, Andrew E. and Dennis Padilla

When it comes to fun and laughter, no matter what generation you come from, be it a Gen X, Gen Y or Millennials, the oldies but goodies (as they say), we are all the same. We share one common interest, no matter how it is executed or perceived, we just all wanna have fun, have a good time and laugh out loud up to the highest level.

And that was notion that encouraged Viva Films to produce this super happy, cool and entertaining film entitled "Sanggano, Sanggago't Sanggwapo" led by tried and tested actors (they don't want to be called veterans hihi), Dennis Padilla, Andrew E. and Janno Gibbs respectively. All three were versatile and talented actors, that's why their presence on the screen and their chemistry was that strong that the viewers really feel them and like their antics and old school style of punchlines.

The pretty leading ladies of "Sanggano, Sanggago't Sanggwapo"

The men and women of "Sanggano, Sanggago't Sanggwapo"

During the movie's presscon, the leading ladies, Louise delos Reyes, Cindy Miranda, Zarah Tolentino, Debbie Garcia and Vanessa Wright were asked if how were they treated by their leading men, and this was what they have to say:

Here's another proof that the "Gamols" are still "in" and that this video shows that they are still the trio jesters that we used to know and watch.

Prime Comedian Dennis Padilla the "Sanggano" aka Dondon

Master Rapper Andre E., the "Sanggago" aka Andy

Singer/host/actor Janno Gibbs the "Sanggwapo" aka Johnny

This movie marks the late Eddie Garcia's last film so, it's another great reason to watch with wacky flick of the trio!!! This hilarious comedy film, was like a sort of a reunion and comback movie for the wacky troika who had done done a Viva Films produced a "gamol" movie back in 1997, entitled the
"Si Mokong, Si Astig at Si Gamol," under the direction of actor/director Jun Aristorenas.

Andy, Johnny, and Dondon whose troubled-filled lives get more complicated because of deceit.

Upon the death of millionaire tycoon Don Robert Endrinal, Andy and Dondon (Andrew E. and Padilla) find out that their friend Johnny (Gibbs) is actually the son of the departed businessman, and naturally has the right and responsibility to take over his father’s business.  But when they arrive at the mansion, the indolent Johnny tells everyone that Andy is Johnny to free himself from any responsibility. The hardworking Andy and the cunning Dondon play along with this charade.

Now that the three friends are thrust into a life of affluence and power, flirtatious women are not far behind.  They also have to deal with a certain Mr. Russel (Eddie Garcia), a land developer determined to acquire Johnny’s hacienda, turn it into a casino complex and make the whole province a gambling capital.

To what lengths will Andy, Johnny, and Dondon go to protect the hacienda and keep their secret at the same time?

Sanggano, Sanggago’t Sanggwapo” will not be complete without the men’s love interests played by Louise delos Reyes, Cindy Miranda, and Vanessa Wright.

Julian Trono, Vitto Marquez, and Andrew Muhlach appear as the young versions of Andy, Johnny, and Dondon.

If you enjoyed the "gamol" flicks "Ang Boyfriend Kong Gamol," and "Andrewford Medina: Wag Kang Gamol," in the 90's chances are you are going to have so much fun and laughter watching "Sanggano, Sanggago't Sanggwapo" movie directed by another popular actor/director Al Tantay, showing on September 4, 2019 in cinemas nationwide!!!

Nadine Lustre is new GCash endorser

August 26, 2019

L-R: Franz Weber, Head for Branding and Strategic Planning, Nadine Lustre and GCash Chief Marketing Officer Chris Manguera

The country’s favorite young artist and model Nadine Lustre is the new face of the Philippines’ leading mobile wallet, GCash.

The multi-awarded actress headlines GCash’s “What Can’t You Do?” campaign to power the dreams of young adults who constantly want to do more, to expand possibilities, and to achieve beyond their own expectations.

“Nadine is the perfect fit for GCash because she represents the true aspirations of young adults and is at that point in her life where taking charge of your finances is becoming more important. She shows how young adults can be independent and take charge of their own lives, and with the help of GCash, “What Can’t You Do?” means so much more,” Chris Manguera, Chief Marketing Officer at Mynt, which runs GCash, said.

After starting out as a singer in a pop band, Lustre evolved to become a much-sought-after actress on TV, with her primetime hits "On The Wings of Love" (2015) and "Till I Met You" (2016).

The 25-year-old actress has fared as well on the big screen, winning the Best Actress awards from Young Critics Circle, FAMAS Awards and the Gawad Urian Awards in 2019 for  hit movie, “Never Not Love You.” Her latest film, “Indak,” a dance musical movie, shows Lustre’s flexibility as an actress.

Early this year, one of world’s biggest fast fashion brands, H&M, launched Lustre as its first Filipino ambassador. The actress, named by a top magazine as Sexiest Woman in 2017, has her own line of swimwear with H&M.

“She has built her brand and can create the image of a lifestyle that everyone will want to follow. We hope for that to happen with GCash as well,” Manguera said. “We also want to activate her big fan base to help spread the word of financial inclusion and empowerment.”

Lustre, who was voted Artist of the Year and Favorite Female Artist at the Myx Music Awards 2019, is a social media savant who has 6.8 million followers on Instagram.

GCash’s “What Can’t You Do?” campaign pushes the limits of what mobile phones can do for young adults with its innovative financial services accessible through mobile. With over 50,000 partner merchants and 20 million users, GCash remains the country’s leading mobile wallet.

Like Lustre, who has won over the entire country  and has kept everyone’s attention throughout the years by relentlessly adapting to change, GCash continues to evolve not just as digital platform but as a lifestyle brand.

Let’s talk about why Samsung’s Heatpump Dryer is a great investment for your home

One of the most challenging times for Filipinos would be the rainy season. Flooding, heavy traffic, unpredictable loss of electricity connection, and of course, a hard time to sun and air-dry clothes. What people may not realize is the convenience a dryer can provide for the entire household.

It saves time and effort
This appliance makes laundry a simple task to guarantee more time for the family. Dryers have the ability to dry clothes at any time of the day, under any weather conditions. Just put freshly washed clothes straight to the dryer, select the right settings, and let it run until completely dry. For people living in the city, there’s no need for wide spaces to hang wet clothes.  Properly dried clothes can go straight for ironing (it actually makes it easier to iron).

Its technology cuts electricity consumption in half
If electricity consumption is the major reason that’s keeping you from getting a dryer, consider the Samsung DV90M5200QW Heatpump dryer. With this technology, a heatpump generates heat during the cycle instead of electricity, so it consumes only half of the electricity from the conventional clothes dryer.

To explain its process further, the Samsung DV90M5200QW Heatpump dryer collects the condensed water from your clothing rather than releasing hot air into the home. Its easy view water tank will show if it needs emptying before another load. One can also connect the tube straight to the drainage to make it a seamless experience.

Optimal Performance
Another energy-saving feature is the OptimalDry function which is an intelligent drying system that provides the best possible drying result using 3 sensors. During a cycle, a moisture sensor continuously monitors the humidity level in real-time and adjusts the drying time using less energy. A temperature sensor also stops your clothes from getting too hot, so it protects them from being damaged. Caring for this appliance is also made easy with the 2-in-1 Filter that captures dust and fibers to make sure it operates at its best. It has a filter alarm that notifies when the filter needs to be emptied.

Perfect for big households
This dryer also has a 9kg capacity, making it ideal for large households. Dry up to 1kg of clothes in 35 minutes with its QuickDry function. Its different programs give each garment the right care it needs. It’s also easy to forget to clean filters on appliances, but this Heatpump dryer has two alarms that alert when the filter and heat exchanger needs cleaning. It’s equipped with an advanced 2-in-1 mesh layer filter system that captures dust and fibers to maintain its optimum drying performance.

MERALCO RATES DOWN FOR THE FOURTH STRAIGHT MONTH

The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) announced on its monthly infomercial, Meralco Advisory, a Php 0.42 per kilowatt hour (kWh) reduction in power rates this month. The downward adjustment this month equates to Php 84 in total savings for a typical household consuming 200 kWh and represents a total net decrease of almost P1.00 per kWh since May 2019. Meralco Public Information Office Head Joe Zaldarriaga (in photo) explained that the overall rate reduction is primarily due to lower charges from the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM), brought about by improved supply conditions in the Luzon grid. Also featured on Meralco Advisory was a testament of Meralco’s continued commitment for rural electrification and its renewable energy advocacy with the recent inauguration of Meralco’s latest solar microgrid system in Cagbalete Island, Quezon. This microgrid facility, composed of solar panels, battery storage, and generator set, will provide electricity to 600 households and businesses by the end of the year.
