"FULL TANK" WITH MICHAEL PANGILINAN AND PRIMA DIVA BILLY AT TEATRINO ON JULY 1...

Michael Pangilinan and Prima Diva Billy in a back-to-back concert entitled "Full Tank" on July 1, 2016 at Teatrino in Greenhills, San Juan City

Sobrang busy ni Michael Pangilinan nitong past months and ang pinaka-latest niyang pinagkakaabalahan ay ang kanilang FULL TANK concert with Prima Diva Billy na gaganapin sa Teatrino (Promenade, Greenhills) this coming Friday, July 1 at 9 P.M.Makakasama nila as guests dito ang mga dating X-Factor co-finalists niyang sina Gab Maturan, Allen Sta. Maria with grand winner KZ Tandingan. Front act are the famous gay impersonators known to many as Pink Mannequins. Ivan Lee Espinosa will be the musical director of the show with Joey Nombres manning the lights.

Ha! Ha! Ha!" ani Michael na tinatakot ng mga friends natin re Ms. Varga's extreme talent as a performer.

Michael Pangilinan

"I will also do my version of Labrinth's "Jealous" as requested by my manager, si Nanay Jobert. Mukhang may hugot factor kasi ang manager ko kaya pinakiusapan niya akong kantahin ito. Baka meron lang siyang pinagdadaanan at ako ang ginagawang sangkalan through this Labrinth song. Ha! Ha! Ha!" he joked.

Prima Diva Billy on the other hand is also managed by Jobert Sucaldito, same as Michael, kaya lang she is now based in Dubai. She just came home for a short vacation and will be back sa Dubai on July 3 (2 days after the concert) kaya naisip ng manager nilang gawan sila ng back-to-back concert.

"Nakaka-proud si Michael kasi nung umalis ako, di pa siya gaanong kilala. Ngayon ay star na ang kapatid ko. Sana sa pagbalik ko next year ay mas marami pa kaming pagsasamahang shows. Sayang kasi ang kontrata ko sa Dubai kung iiwanan kong bigla. Don't worry - by next year I will be back for good.

"Nagpagawa naman ako ng Adelle medley para sa show. Alam niyo naman si Nay Jobert, siya ang namimili ng repertoire namin. In fairness naman sa choices niya, gusto rin namin kaya ngayon, magkakasama na kami sa mutual understanding society. Ha! Ha! Ha! Pare-pareho kasi kaming musical," ani Prima Diva Billy.

This concert is brought to us by Ms. Josie Yu, Mayor VJ Pimentel (Carrascal, Surigao del Sur) and Isabela Gov. Bojie Dy. Major sponsors include Mr. Neal Gonzales, Ms. Chaye Cabal-Revilla, Mr. Art Atayde, Mr. Atong Ang, Mr. & Mrs. Henry and Lily Chua, Mayor & Mrs. Boy and Precy Cruz (Guiguinto, Bulacan), Mr. & Mrs. Nixon and Adela Teng, Kuya Boy Abunda, Ms. Jen Corpuz-Legaspi, Golden Bay Restaurant, Mr. Alex, Cruz, Xentro Malls, McQueen Petals, Joel Cruz Signatures and Aficionado Germany Perfume.

The Gala Foundation children have a fun day at BSM

On Friday 3 June 2016,  British School Manila Year 6 classes welcomed the children from their Service Learning Partner, The Gala Foundation, based in Angono, Rizal. ‘We decided to invite Gala to BSM and use the money we had have raised to provide fun activities we could do with the children - to help us get to know each other,’ said a student from class 6GP.

Over the past few weeks BSM Year 6 students have worked hard to raise money for The Gala Foundation through their 'Money Matters' project. The students sold a range of products on BSM campus, to their fellow students, over a 2-day period and raised over PhP30,000.

During the visit by Gala, each Year 6 class led a different event. 6GP class began the day with sport, year 6AD then led an art project and 6GD finished the morning with an ICT activity.

‘It was fun and this was just the first step in working with the Gala Foundation,’ said a student from 6GP. ‘We will continue to support them next year in other ways.’
Some notes from our students about the morning:
During the Gala visit I liked doing sports with them, tennis and poison ball. I loved spending time with them, showing them around our school and walking and chatting. - student from 6GP class.

When Gala came to Year 6 we had prepared 3 activities for them. My class helped them to decorate a bag which they could then take to their house. We made many new friends and my Year 6 friends agree that it was an experience we won't forget. - student from 6AD class
During the Gala visit I really enjoyed working with the children on the ICT activity as we got to teach them how to edit pictures. They made a personal card which they took home to decorate their rooms. - student from  6GD

It was a fun morning for everyone involved and a special 'Thank You' to Miss Gemma, our wonderful PLA, for helping to organise a memorable experience.

Readers Digest Trusted Brands 2016: Honoring the Companies Filipinos Believe In the Most

What is the mark of a good business?

Is it the consistent increase in sales; the continued accumulation of assets or a financial statement that will keep investors smiling?

Five or ten years ago, these figures may be enough, but in the current business landscape, there is one other factor that has become critical in building a strong foundation-- Trust.

TRUST has become a “high-value” currency that is accepted globally outweighing the value of any monetary conversion. Gone are the days when people just look at the lavish office buildings when choosing their banks, on shiny new equipment of service centers or rely on commercials and celebrity endorsers when deciding which brand to purchase.

Today, trust plays a crucial element when consumers make a decision--and with the widespread ubiquity of the internet and social media, the importance of establishing a good reputation has only become more pronounced.

Companies can recover from decreasing profits or a downtrend in sales, but when its consumers lose confidence it can result in irreparable damage regardless of how old a brand is.

Trust is that one factor that remains constant. Once trust is established, it becomes an instinctive response – the consumer buys the brand without so much as a second thought because they can relate to it as "their" brand.

Trust is the ultimate vote of confidence. For businesses it is a forward-facing measure imbued with expectation, promise and satisfaction and a solid reputation of distinction.

For consumers, the mark of a Trusted Brand fosters loyalty and a relationship that goes far beyond price, trends and marketing campaigns.

MOST TRUSTED SURVEY

Now on its 18th year, Reader’s Digest, one of the longest running print publications in the world, will again honor the products and services that Filipinos trust most. The Trusted Brands 2016 Awards ceremony will be held on June 30, 2016 at the ballroom A of the Marco Polo Hotel in Ortigas, Pasig.

Renowned motivational speaker and business influencer, Ms. Anna Esperanza  will be the keynote speaker while Reader’s Digest Asia Pacific Mr. Walter Beyleveldt, Managing Director of Readers Digest Asia Pacific and Ms. Sheron White, Group Advertising & Retail Sales Director, Asia Pacific will be personally awarding the trophies to the winners.

Reader's Digest has approached ordinary Filipino consumers to ask their opinions on what brands of products and services are important to them.

For the 2016 Trusted Brand Survey, Readers Digest has commissioned global market research company CATALYST to survey a representative sample of people in the Philippines about the companies they truly believe. The survey covers 44 categories of products and services across a wide range of industries.

Approximately 8,000 individuals were selected across 5 of Asia’s key markets such as the Philippines, HongKong, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan.

Around 1000 respondents were surveyed in the Philippines.  Half were subscribers to Reader's Digest, while the remainder  were selected to reflect the demographics of the general population.

Each respondent was required to complete a questionnaire or participate in a mail, face to face, telephone or online survey.  Queried participants are to mention the name of their most trusted brands and then rate each of brands listed based the following six attributes: Trustworthiness, Credibility, Quality, Value, Understanding of Customer Needs, Innovation and Social Responsibility.  This year the awards will be presented in each of the 44 categories.

GOLD Trusted Brands Awards – will be given to brands that scored significantly higher than their rivals.
PLATINUM Trusted Brands Awards – will be given to brands that performed exceptionally, winning their category with a score that vastly outpolled their nearest competitor.

ASIA TRUSTED Brand Awards will be given to a brand that wins the Reader's Digest Trusted Brand award in the same category for at least three countries surveyed.

Special awards will also be given out to the Most Trusted TV News Presenter; Radio Presenter; Entertainment Presenter as well as Marketing Excellence Awards.

Recipients of the Trusted Brand awards will receive given a Trophy and will be allowed to use the globally
recognized Trusted Brand Logo in their marketing collaterals and merchandising materials.

"Sa Piling Ni Nanay:" Is Blood Thicker Than Love?

Yasmien Kurdi and Sofia Jayzel Cabatay

In this modern world, the issue of surrogacy is slowly being accepted by the society. And it's also drawng some interests to those people who they feel can benefit from this arrangement.

In the case of Ysabel, played by Yasmien Kurdi, she is trapped and torn between giving up motherhood to her surrogate child and into being a real loving mom to Maya, portrayed by Sofia Jayzel Catabay in the story.

Fate has not been that friendly to Ysabel, if only Maymay did make it and wasn't involved in an accident, everything about the agreement of surrogacy between Ysabel and Scarlet played by Katrina Hallili would materialize.

Watch "Sa Piling Ni Nanay" cast of characters and how they struggle against life's challenges and the battle for Maya's rightful mother. Is blood thicker than love?

Katrina Halili as Scarlet

GMA Network launches its newest Afternoon Prime series Sa Piling Ni Nanay beginning June 27 after Hanggang Makita Kang Muli.

Another original and intriguing family drama, it tackles the story of a surrogate mother and her selfless love for the daughter she carried.

Sa Piling Ni Nanay features the much awaited reunion of StarStruck Season 1 alumni Yasmien Kurdi, Mark Herras and Katrina Halili.

Yasmien is Ysabel, a single mother to her loving daughter Maymay. She works as a personal assistant to Scarlet, a socialite, to be played by Katrina. However, Scarlet cannot bear a child so she convinces Ysabel to become their surrogate. She agrees to surrogacy because she needs money for the treatment of Maymay’s bone marrow transplant.

But half-way through Ysabel’s pregnancy, Maymay unexpectedly dies from an accident. Due to depression and loneliness, Ysabel breaks the surrogacy agreement, flees with the baby and decides to raise her as her own, calling her Maya in memory of her daughter who passed away.

Mark, on the other hand, portrays Jonas, a bachelor who secretly has feelings for Ysabel. But his love for her turned into hatred when she took away Scarlet’s child who is also the grandchild of his aunt Matilda.

With Ysabel and Scarlet’s battle to win Maya, who has the real rights over the child? The mother by blood or the mother who gave birth to her? Is blood thicker than love?

Joining them are seasoned actress Nova Villa as Matilda, Scarlet’s rich mother-in-law who eagerly wants a grandchild from her; Bettina Carlos as Wanda, Scarlet’s OB/GYN friend who gave consent to her request to conduct surrogacy; Antonio Aquitania as Rod, Ysabel’s abusive live-in partner; Sofia Jayzel Cabatay as Maya, the child of Ysabel born out of surrogacy.

Sa Piling Ni Nanay is directed by Gil Tejada Jr.

Behind this engrossing drama is the creative team composed of Creative Director Roy Iglesias; Creative Head for Afternoon Prime Dode Cruz; Creative Unit Head Marides Garbes-Severino;  Creative Consultant Suzette Doctolero; Headwriter Obet Villela; Writers Jonathan Cruz, Jake Somera; Brainstormers Nehem Dallego, Gilda Olvidado, Kutz Enriquez; Concept Creator Rhona Lean Sales.

The program is another original creation of the GMA Drama group under the supervision of Senior Vice President for Entertainment TV Lilybeth G. Rasonable; Vice President for Drama Redgie Acuña-Magno; Assistant Vice President for Drama Cheryl Ching-Sy; Program Manager Nini Matilac and Executive Producer Jojo Aleta.

THE GREAT CAKE CAPER

For weeks now, social media has been abuzz, discussing a truly perplexing occurrence: all throughout the city, the giant 50th Anniversary cakes plastered on Goldilocks billboards have simultaneously disappeared. At first, netizens concluded that it must have been an isolated case limited to a particular billboard, but the chatter soon revealed that it was a nationwide phenomenon.

Compounding the mystery is that the company itself does not seem to know where their cake went. Numerous inquiries to the official Goldilocks Facebook page (GoldilocksPH) and even direct interaction with company officials have shed little light on the enigma. Indeed, there is a growing sense of concern and mild panic, as countless Filipino lives have been touched by the country’s best-loved bakeshop.

The good news is that there have been a number of cake sightings. In order to encourage people to help join the search, Goldilocks has even offered a cash prize to winning entrants.

To join the hunt, simply spot the missing cake (stay tuned for clues) and take a selfie together with it. You mayt then upload it to a dedicated microsite goldilocks.com.ph/missinggoldicake with your name, age, address and contact details on or before June 27.

Each participant is allowed to submit up to three photos with a maximum size of 2MB.
The draw will be on June 29 where Goldilocks will choose five (5) winners of Php 10,000.00 cash and ten (10) winners of Php 5,000.00 worth of Goldilocks gift certificate.

Will you be the one to solve the great cake caper? To learn more about the mechanics of the Goldilocks Missing Cake Promo check out www.goldilocks.com.ph and follow them on Facebook or Instagram via GoldilocksPH

Make Dad’s Day Delightful

One part love, another part fatherly wisdom, add a sprinkling of corny jokes and you have the basic formula for a dad. The equation may be straightforward, but don’t take that to imply simplicity, because as many of us know, raising a child takes a lot of work!

Father’s Day is time where we strive to show the men who raised us how much we appreciate and love them, because despite their responsibilities and hectic schedules, they have always given their time, love, and support to us.

So what can we do to show the dads of the world how much they mean to us? With every passing year, Father’s Day arrives with the annual panic of trying to find a last minute gift that we desperately hope doesn’t look like a last minute gift.

Thus, instead of a goofy tie, why not indulge your dad’s sweet tooth? Apart from the Chocolate Caramel Decadence – a luscious chocolate fudge cake filled with gooey caramel – Goldilocks Bakeshop also offers a range of gifts that will give any father a perfect end to a work-filled day.  Exquisitely delicious, affordable, and true to the Pinoy spirit, there’s truly no better way to fill your dad’s heart with joy.

It is said that the quickest way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, and the country’s best-loved bakeshop certainly abides by this. Indeed, Goldilocks gifts are a scrumptious way to celebrate a special day, and put a smile on your father’s face.

For more information on Goldilocks’ delights, or to order something for your loved ones, visit www.goldilocks.com.ph or join the conversation on Facebook and Twitter via GoldilocksPH

Maximize Juice Benefits with Hurom

New Hurom H-AA Series are available in trendy colors like Ferrari Red, Black Gold, Black Gray, Ivory, White, and Rose Gold.

Hurom wants you to reach your maximum juicing potential by making the most out of your slow juicer and giving you healthy juice advice.

Use more Greens. One of the major advantages of having a slow juicer over a blender or a regular juicer is that you can juice practically any vegetable and it won’t taste weird, as opposed to, say, preparing it like a smoothie.  So take advantage of that and combine leafy greens with fruits. For example, you can add spinach (or kale if you can find it) to the classic combination of cucumber and apple/pineapple. Green juices have detox and cleansing qualities that bring a lot of oxygen into your system, and are natural energy boosters. Other leafy greens commonly used: cabbage, bok choy, arugula, lettuce along with herbs of your choice like basil, tarragon, dill etc.

Not a Meal Replacement. While just incorporating juice into your diet will improve your health, it is not advised to use juice as meal replacement. But if you add protein to your juice in the form chia seeds, flax seeds and hemp seeds, these not only bulk your juice and add texture, they make the juice more substantial and filling enough as a snack or quick breakfast.

Drink Fresh. The best way is to drink juice as soon as it is squeezed. We know this isn’t always possible or practical. After all, you’d want to bring some of that healthy goodness to work or school. As a rule of thumb, you can still drink your juice within 48 hours. If you can’t keep it in the fridge, store it a cool, dark corner because oxygen and light will break down the nutrients in juice. It is also advised that you drink juice on an empty stomach will make your body absorb more of the nutrients, and it also puts cravings at bay.

There is a reason why Hurom is the number one Slow Juicer in the world according to Euromonitor, a London based Market Research Firm. This is because they never stop innovating. The Hurom Slow Juicer is well known for their patented Slow Squeeze Technology (SST) that is able to extract juice with all their vitamins, minerals and enzymes intact.  Their juicers also have a control lever that allows you to customize how much of the fruit or vegetable  goes into the juice or if you want some of the pulp for more fiber.

The second generation of 2016 New Hurom Slow Juicers  (The HA-A Series) improved on their patented technology for a richer juice and more nutrition at optimum speed, which means they went even S-L-O-W-E-R (43 to rpm to the previous 83 rpm) for maximum extraction. The 2016 New Hurom H-AA series also features a more user friendly design: the body has a sleeker body with a semi- transparent hopper (feeder) that allows users to check if ingredients are inserted properly.

The control lever maximizes juice extraction, and there are fewer blockages in the vent that releases the extruded pulp, making for an easier clean-up.  They even have an easy moving handle so you can bring your juicer wherever you want.
The 2016 New Hurom H-AA Series retails for P19,995.00 and are available in trendy colors of Ferrari Red, Black Gold, Black Gray, Ivory, White, and Rose Gold.

2016 New Hurom H-AA Series Slow Juicers are available in Abenson, Anson Link, Duty Free, Gourdo’s, Rustan’s, Landmark, Metro Gaisano, Royal Duty Free, S&R, SM Appliance, SM Home, True Value, and Western Appliances. To learn more about Hurom Slow Juicers, visit the official website at www.hurom.com and follow us on our social media accounts: (Facebook) http://www.facebook.com/huromphofficial, and (Twitter & Instagram) @HuromPHofficial.
