Kipling and World Vision Unites to Create a Brighter Christmas

Ms. Miriam Quiambao, an ardent supporter of World Vision hosted the momentous event

Christmas season is the most wonderful time of the year. It's the season of love, hope, forgiving, peace, unity, sharing and giving. And above everything, it's the moment wherein we commemorate and celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

As timely as this joint project of Kipling and World Vision, both have ventured into a joint program to bring "A Brighter Christmas For A Brighter Tomorrow." The union of the Belgian bag brand Kipling and world renowned Christian development and advocacy organization, World Vision aims to provide additional funds for the education of children under its care.

Mr. Benjamin Go, President of Greyhound Marketing Corporation,
exclusive distributor of Kipling in the Philippines

According to Mr. Benjamin Go, President of Greyhound Marketing Corporation, exclusive distributor of Kipling in the Philippines, the partnership is a timely effort to spread the fun and happiness that’s instilled in every Kipling bag. “There is no greater joy this Christmas than knowing we have brought smiles to others, especially children. Through “A Brighter Christmas For A Brighter Tomorrow” program, we can make not only the holidays, but also the future, brighter for the children of World Vision.”

Mr. Jun Godornes, World Vision National Resource Development Associate Director

“We are very delighted to have this partnership with Kipling, which is known globally for bringing fun and joy through its fashionable bags. Were happy that this time, Kipling has decided to reach out and bring the same kind of goodwill to ensure the education of children sponsored by World Vision,” says National Resource Development Associate Director Jun Godornes.

Salute to Kipling and World Vision for putting the welfare of the unfortunate children ahead of their personal benefits. Now, everyone can also be a part of this humble endeavor, how?
Starting December 1 to 31, 2012, for every purchase of a Kipling bag or luggage, the international bag brand will donate Php 500 to its advocacy partner, the World Vision. So can you imagine that by being fashionable and selfless, we could in a way, also share by giving children a brighter tomorrow?
It's like "shopping for a cause!"

NESCAFÉ Grand Fans Day: A Million Thanks Celebration

NESCAFÉ Grand Fans Day

Coffee has been part of every family's daily routine. Just like NESCAFÉ, it has been a sort of a coffee "lingo" for us, Pinoys. When you mention coffee it does directly mean Nescafe, right? What I really love about this coffee brand, is its magical aroma. I guess it's NESCAFÉ's top trademark that other brands don't possess (no offense meant, peace!). The very scent of NESCAFÉ coffee's aroma sends out soothing and relaxing effect to our senses.

That NESCAFÉ coffee distinct aroma ohhh lala!
(Photo from Nescafe Philippines Facebook page)

A study has been made about the aromatic effect of coffee. It is very encouraging to recognize that, in a particular study of international scientists led by Han Seok-Seo of Seoul National University, they have found out that, with just the coffee aroma itself, it may help in reducing the stress level activity of the brain thus, promoting other health benefits such as its antioxidant properties.
Check out more exciting aroma infos and trivias here Nescafe.com.ph

In this modern generation, everything must be taken in "express" to cope up with our fast-changing lifestyle. And Nescafe has given us a great deal and contribution, not to forget the convenience in introducing to us their 3in1 coffee. Talking about fast-change in this digital world, almost everything has come into evolution. Aside from Nescafe's Pure Coffee products namely Nescafe Classic, Nescafe Decaf and Nescafe Gold, their 3in1 coffee mixes had evolved, from the Original now comes different coffee variety mixes and options to suit our delicate taste: 3in1 Brown 'N Creamy (my fave!), 3in1 Strong 'N Rich, 3in1 Sugar Free, 3in1 Decaf, Nescafe Gold 3in1, 3in1 Chocolatte, 3in1 Creamylatte.

Just recently, NESCAFÉ Philippines has given back to all of its consumers and fans by celebrating the NESCAFÉ Grand Fans Day held at the Music Hall of SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City. The said event is in connection with NESCAFÉ Philippines journey to 2 million likes on its Facebook page. Having reached that immense number of Facebook likers, was a tremendous record for the popular coffee brand. It took them two and a half years to reach 1M likes whereas the next million was only earned less than a year, 303 days to be exact. But more than the number of fans, the page values its reach and its interactions more, because these fans don’t just like, they engage, they love.

Among the full-packed thanksgiving event by NESCAFÉ Philippines were special appearances of personalities like Youtube sensation and comedienne, Petra Mahalimuyak, Frank Magalona, host and sports enthusiast  Drew Arellano, and live performances of Pinoy bands, Callalily, 6 Cycle Mind and Urbandub.

“Each of our posts has an average reach of over 500,000, which is achieved by having over 100,000 fans talking about our products and our promos. Facebook has allowed us to create a personal relationship with each of these consumers and have a two-way dialogue with them. Each comment is an insight on how NescafĂ© is perceived, and we take the feedback into consideration with each product and activity we launch,” says Christophe Stern, Business Executive Manager of NESCAFÉ in the Philippines.

Mr. Cristophe Stern during the presscon

For NESCAFÉ Philippines, digital has gone from being a “nice to have” to being a “must-have” in its digital strategy. This is evident in online apps and activities that launch in conjunction with offline launches and promos. Its NESCAFÉ Points Kapihan not only engages fans, it also rewards with premium items and even tickets to its latest Fans’ Day to celebrate 2 million likes and 2 million moments.

A million reasons to celebrate.... A million thanks from NESCAFÉ Philippines

Continues Stern ,“Each new like, comment, and share is an achievement for NESCAFÉ. Our goal has always been to gain the trust of our consumers, earn their loyalty, and continue engaging with them as a brand they can truly love. We do this online on our Facebook page, and we create opportunities to do this offline and meet our fans face-to-face to show our appreciation. Next year will be our 75th anniversary, and we look forward to having even bigger and better activities not only to celebrate this milestone, but also to recognize and reward fans that have helped us get there.”

To NESCAFÉ Philippines, a warm congratulations! We're all looking forward in celebrating your 75th anniversary with you! Next thing we know, you might acquire another digital milestone- hitting the 3M likes on Facebook next year! Mabuhay kayo!!!

BEING 24/7 IN LOVE BEFORE THE END OF THE WORLD

This only happens once in a lifetime in the entire history of local cinema! In celebration of Star Magic’s 20th anniversary, here comes the grandest movie ever, “24/7 In Love.” A seven part episode film starring the elite and famous celebrities of Star Magic. This star-studded flick stars fifteen of the most glittering talents of Star Magic which is a perfect pre-Christmas offering of Star Cinema directed by Mae Cruz, Dado Lumibao, John D. Lazatin and Frasco Mortiz.

This romantic-comedy smorgasbord movie started when Jane (Kathryn Bernardo) hopelessly wanted to join a contest by providing a video presentation of different people asking each but the same question, “What would you do before the world ends?” Jane has to accomplish that to win 5 VIP concert tickets to her ultimate crush and idol, Billy (Daniel Padilla). The “KathNiel” love team is such a fresh pace for the movie to begin with.

"KathNiel" loveteam- Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla

While doing the video presentation, they have encountered all sorts of characters; Pokwang plays Virgie, a 40 year old virgin who was cheated by her fiancé and had entered into a blind date situation with Charles (Sam Milby), a gigolo for hire. Watch how they tangled in search for romance and true love.

Pokwang and Sam Milby

Pokwang: "Lahat tayo may karapatang mahalin at magmahal, hindi pa huli ang lahat."

Ex-sweethearts Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson were reunited in this film as they give love a second chance when Patty (Kim,) an active account executive has to search for a model who happens to be her former boyfriend, Alvin (Gerald).

"Kimerald" - Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson

Real lovebirds Bea Alonzo and Zanjo Marudo teams up to render us a great laugh. Their story was so catchy, with Zanjo portraying a gay role for the first time. Belle (Bea) and Butch (Zanjoe) were best friends until Belle falls in love with her “becky” friend and they had engaged in a one night stand. I can imagine how hilarious this episode is. :))

Bea Alonzo and Zanjo Marudo

Barbara (Maja Salvador) is secretly in love with her boss Ken (Deither Ocampo) and helps her employer to resolve some personal issues especially when it comes to commitments. According to the fine and bubbly actress, the moral of their story is, “Sa story namin ni Deither, ako ‘yung forever nandiyan para sa kanya, pareho kami nung una na takot magmahal pero bandang huli, na-realize ko, ang sarap-sarap magmahal hindi mo kailangang matakot magmahal at saka pag takot kang magmahal, baka hindi na dumating ‘yung tao para sa’yo.”

Maja Salvador and Diether Ocampo

Maja: "Ang pag-ibig hindi mo naman talaga alam kung kailan darating eh, 'pag nandyan na, bakit mo pa papakawalan."

The controversial and newest couple (for real!) Angelica Panganiban and John Lloyd Cruz had developed feelings for each other while filming this movie in Vietnam. Verna (Angel) took time to get off from her marital issues and met a Filipino waiter Elvis (John Lloyd). In an interview with Angelica Panganiban in Showbiz Inside Report (SIR), she said, “Ipapakita ‘yung iba’t- ibang tao na sumagot dun sa tanong kung papano nila gagamitin ang pagkakataon... ito ‘yung mga taong may last chance, may second chance, may pwede pang baguhin, na pwede pang ayusin.”

Angelica Panganiban and John Lloyd Cruz

And lastly, but definitely not the least, is the episode with a heart as per sir Eric John Salut’s commendation. For the first time, the ultimate heartthrob Piolo Pascual portrays Mike, a 35 year old mentally challenged man. During the movie’s bloggers’ conference, held at ELJ building in ABS-CBN, Piolo shared that they’ve done their whole episode inside the Hospicio with child wonders Zaijan Jaranilla (Jomar) and Xyriel Manabat (Ayie). The three characters are involved in a love triangle. When asked about what moral values do this episode impart, Piolo replied, “Yung love ng mga bata, na akala mo totoo, na akala mo love but it’s just really I guess affection or care so, it’ll grow eventually pero ‘yun nga, you shouldn’t take it too seriously because bata ka pa. So fun lang talaga, it should be fun.”

There are a lot of elements to expect from this movie. Witness how love revolves around the characters in different angles, in all ages, in different levels, status, gender and condition. Hypothetically, aside from praying and being spiritually prepared before the world ends, it all boils down to one thing... it’s still love that matters... and it’s universal.
How about you? Do you wanna be “24/7 In Love” if the world is about to end? As direk Frasco suggests, “Live life to the fullest!” I couldn’t agree more, direk. ;-)

Direk Frasco Mortiz during the blogcon

Direk Mae Cruz: "Iba-iba ang flavor ng bawa't episode, so parang di talaga makukumpara, parang apples and oranges, iba-iba 'yung flavor, iba-iba 'yung timpla. All the best na sa isang film!"

Joining the main cast are other actors that includes Jason Francisco, Jayson Gainza, Joem Bascon, Maricar Reyes, Matt Evans, John Lapus, Joseph Marco, Helga Krapf, Niña Dolino and Andrei Felix. Showing in theaters nationwide, “24/7 In Love” is rated PG 13.

“Angelito: Ang Bagong Yugto” Behind The Scenes

JM De Guzman and Charee Pineda on the set

It was just an ordinary taping day for ABS-CBN’s tv series “Angelito: Ang Bagong Yugto”  lead stars JM De Guzman and Charee Pineda; but for us, it was not! JM de Guzman was very sweet, grounded, amiable and accommodating. The very first time I saw JM was when I was just passing by ELJ building a couple of years ago, he was standing in front of Gerry’s Grill, my second time was a little closer than before. :))

The company (A4 Telemedia Productions) where I’m connected to had produced the very successful 37th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) last year held at Resorts World Manila (RWM) Newport Performing Arts Theater in Newport City, Pasay City; JM had received an award for his outstanding performance in Pintakasi as the Best Actor in the New Wave (indie film) category..... I was at the backstage and we’d walked across each other, was supposed to congratulate him but lost the chance (tsk! too bad), plus I was also rushing to the other side of the backstage.
Now, we're this close already...  :))

When entertainment blogger, Morgy invited me to join him to the set visit of “Angelito,” just recently, I’d no second thoughts. Since I’m an avid follower of “Angelito: Ang Bagong Yugto,” got excited about the thought of finally talking with JM (Angelito) on the set and the rest of the casts while taping. The location shoot was set in La Concordia College in Manila, which fortunately, just a jeepney ride from my place :)) JM and direk Theodore C. Boborol gave us a warm welcome.

And how about this? Hahaha now, I can prove
that there's always a next time and it could be
the best part believe me! <3

We were so privileged and felt lucky to have bonded with the “moreno” actor, JM. The talented actor even shared that he writes songs based from his emotions and experience. The important thing is what he feels at the time of his writing and then everything else just follows...  his wants... everything. He was so generous to have showed us few “samples” of his singing talent with the accompaniment of his guitar. Btw, according to him, he’s also into flute playing.

And for you to see what we've witnessed, here's JM De Guzman's cover of
"Is It Okay If I Call You Mine"
originally done by Paul McCrane:

Thank you JM for being so awesome!

Pretty boy JM ;-)

JM doesn't want to be seated when concentrating with his script and munching pizza hehe cute!

The beauteous and curvaceous Charee Pineda who plays Rosalie as Angelito’s wife in the said afternoon teleserye on the Kapamilya network, arrived looking so lovely and fresh (no signs of haggardness) despite her busy schedules- had been shooting for 24 hours for the past few days with little time to rest and sleep. She claimed that having entered the world of politics and dreamed of becoming a city councilor (with NPC political party) in Valenzuela in the 2013 elections, she’s never been so busy. You see, during her free days apart from the tapings of their teleserye, she’s up to visiting the city of Valenzuela and becoming familiar with her future constituents (wink, wink!) and vice- versa.

Charee Pineda during the interview in "Angelito: Ang Bagong Yugto" taping

with the gorgeous Charee Pineda

Joshen Bernardo as "Jun-Jun", Angelito and Rosalie's son in the story

When asked about if has she established a platform at this early point? Charee replied, “May naka-ready na ako in case... para sa youth since SK (Sangguniang Kabataan) ako.” And with regards to their teleserye’s high ratings at this present time, she’s very happy with it and hopes that it would still continue until February (end of Angelito) of next year. She also shared that on March, 2013, she’d be fully engaged with the campaign, that’s why she’s also thankful that everything runs at the most perfect timing.  Good luck and more power to you, Charee! ;-)

One of the scenes in "Angelito: Ang Bagong Yugto" taken that day

Truly, “Some good things never last,” but while “Angelito: Ang Bagong Yugto” still airs, just expect more struggles, challenges, human interests, family values and exciting scenes from one of the sought- after tv series in local channel.

Their journey might come to an end, but our journey to this AMAZING life continues....
Special thanks to Morgy of http://www.supermorgy.com for the invite, to direk Theodore for such a warm accommodation and of course to Mr. Nice Guy, JM De Guzman and Charee Pineda for being so extra nice. It was a very memorable and fun-filled set visit, hope to join you guys again and the rest of the casts in the future. More power!!!

JM De Guzman message to his fans

Just continue to watch "Angelito: Ang Bagong Yugto" on ABS-CBN Channel 2 with its new time slot at 2:45 pm during weekdays right after “It’s Showtime!”
