Suddenly It's Magic, a movie for the young and young at heart
I've always been a fan of feel-good, romantic-comedy movies. A film like "Suddenly It's Magic" is one thing that everyone would enjoy and cherish the uber "kilig" moments. :)) The first team-up of Thailand heartthrob Mario Maurer from the movie "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" and famous Filipina actress Erich Gonzales was the first of its kind. Others say that this seems to be an experimental movie but I'd like to commend the whole cast and production team for having created such film which makes the viewers feel so light, young and in love.

The story evolves between two star crossed lovers: Marcus Hanson (Mario), his role is nothing different from his real status- a Thai superstar who wanted to seek for a different world for a while apart from his country and true identity. Fate's been so kind to him; he met the girl of his dreams, the "cupcake" girl, Joey Hermosa (Erich) here in the Philippines. Both share same ordeal- they were both mending a broken heart, but Joey seemed to be unprepared for another relationship. As the song by Vesta Williams, "Suddenly It's Magic" says....
"I always thought I would be strong
If I made it through the pain
If I made it through the pain
Well, I’m in and out of love
And it all hurts just the same, oh yeah
Love can really change your life
There’s something magic in my world tonight"
Watch how two different people thread life and face challenges with their love, trust and compassion in abundance. What will you do if the situation calls for the very last thing you wouldn't want to do.... Is it worth everything you've dreamed of? Even if it would mean hurting each other's feelings? One must be that brave enough to let go and move on with life if it would only mean your loved one's welfare and triumph.

Truly love knows neither boundaries nor distance ... it should not be complicated. But if those complications would make the lovers stronger, then let it be. It's just a matter of time, sacrifice and patience, like what happened to Marcus and Joey. If you were Joey or Marcus, will you follow your heart? Will you follow what you believed to be your destiny?

The film was shot in Paoay, Ilocos Norte; it featured the historical Paoay church and you'll enjoy some scenic and tourist spots while watching it. They've also managed to shoot some scenes in Thailand and captured several best spots over there as well, isn't that great? It's like we're touring our very own country and Thailand all in one sitting. :)) Aside from that, a lot of "kilig" moments were shared by Mario and Erich, they really have a strong chemistry on-screen.

I really enjoyed watching the movie's block screening on its opening day with my blogger/ friends and with no less than Erich herself! She was seated just right at the back row from where we were seated so you could just imagine how we try to look at her reactions every time she has "kilig" moments with Mario especially when he's playing with his lips and making "pa-cute" to Erich in most scenes. And basing from her reactions, she really did enjoy and had so much fun watching her own movie. :)))
