BEING 24/7 IN LOVE BEFORE THE END OF THE WORLD
This only happens once in a lifetime in the entire history
of local cinema! In celebration of Star Magic’s 20th anniversary, here
comes the grandest movie ever, “24/7 In Love.” A seven part episode film
starring the elite and famous celebrities of Star Magic. This star-studded
flick stars fifteen of the most glittering talents of Star Magic which is a
perfect pre-Christmas offering of Star Cinema directed by Mae Cruz, Dado Lumibao,
John D. Lazatin and Frasco Mortiz.
This romantic-comedy smorgasbord movie started when Jane
(Kathryn Bernardo) hopelessly wanted to join a contest by providing a video
presentation of different people asking each but the same question, “What would
you do before the world ends?” Jane has to accomplish that to win 5 VIP concert
tickets to her ultimate crush and idol, Billy (Daniel Padilla). The “KathNiel”
love team is such a fresh pace for the movie to begin with.

While doing the video presentation, they have encountered all
sorts of characters; Pokwang plays Virgie, a 40 year old virgin who was cheated
by her fiancé and
had entered into a blind date situation with Charles (Sam Milby), a gigolo for
hire. Watch how they tangled in search for romance and true love.

Pokwang: "Lahat tayo may karapatang mahalin at magmahal, hindi pa huli ang lahat."
Ex-sweethearts Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson were reunited in
this film as they give love a second chance when Patty (Kim,) an active account
executive has to search for a model who happens to be her former boyfriend, Alvin
(Gerald).

Real lovebirds Bea Alonzo and Zanjo Marudo teams up to
render us a great laugh. Their story was so catchy, with Zanjo portraying a gay
role for the first time. Belle (Bea) and Butch (Zanjoe) were best friends until
Belle falls in love with her “becky” friend and they had engaged in a one night
stand. I can imagine how hilarious this episode is. :))

Barbara (Maja Salvador) is secretly in love with her boss
Ken (Deither Ocampo) and helps her employer to resolve some personal issues
especially when it comes to commitments. According to the fine and bubbly
actress, the moral of their story is, “Sa story namin ni Deither, ako ‘yung forever

The controversial and newest couple (for real!) Angelica
Panganiban and John Lloyd Cruz had developed feelings for each other while
filming this movie in Vietnam. Verna (Angel) took time to get off from her
marital issues and met a Filipino waiter Elvis (John Lloyd). In an interview
with Angelica Panganiban in Showbiz Inside Report (SIR), she said, “Ipapakita ‘yung
iba’t- ibang tao na sumagot dun sa tanong kung papano nila gagamitin ang
pagkakataon... ito ‘yung mga taong may last chance, may second chance, may
pwede pang baguhin, na pwede pang ayusin.”

And lastly, but definitely not the least, is the episode
with a heart as per sir Eric John Salut’s commendation. For the first time, the
ultimate heartthrob Piolo Pascual portrays Mike, a 35 year old mentally
challenged man. During the movie’s bloggers’ conference, held at ELJ building
in ABS-CBN, Piolo shared that they’ve done their whole episode inside the
Hospicio with child wonders Zaijan Jaranilla (Jomar) and Xyriel Manabat (Ayie).
The three characters are involved in a love triangle. When asked about what
moral values do this episode impart, Piolo replied, “Yung love ng mga bata, na
akala mo totoo, na akala mo love but it’s just really I guess affection or care
so, it’ll grow eventually pero ‘yun nga, you shouldn’t take it too seriously
because bata ka pa. So fun lang talaga, it should be fun.”

There are a lot of elements to expect from this movie. Witness
how love revolves around the characters in different angles, in all ages, in
different levels, status, gender and condition. Hypothetically, aside from
praying and being spiritually prepared before the world ends, it all boils down
to one thing... it’s still love that matters... and it’s universal.
How about you? Do you wanna be “24/7 In Love” if the world
is about to end? As direk Frasco suggests, “Live life to the fullest!” I couldn’t
agree more, direk. ;-)

Direk Mae Cruz: "Iba-iba ang flavor ng bawa't episode, so parang di talaga makukumpara, parang apples and oranges, iba-iba 'yung flavor, iba-iba 'yung timpla. All the best na sa isang film!"
Joining the main cast are other actors that includes Jason Francisco, Jayson Gainza, Joem Bascon, Maricar Reyes, Matt Evans,
John Lapus, Joseph Marco, Helga Krapf, Niña Dolino and Andrei Felix. Showing in theaters
nationwide, “24/7 In Love” is rated PG 13.
