WHO IS VICO SOTTO?

Son of Showbiz personalities "Bossing" Vic Sotto at Coney Reyes

Educational Background:
- Bachelor of Arts, major in Political Sciences in Ateneo
- Master's Degree in Public Management

Political Experience:
- As a sole independent Councilor of Pasig, he successfully passed "Pasig Transparency Ordinance" (the first local bill for the Freedom of Information in Metro Manila)
- Project Associate (2015) and Board Member (to present) of Political and Democracy Reforms (PODER) and the GOVERNMENT WATCH, Inc. (G-Watch)
- Legislative Staff Officer of "Sangguniang Panlungsod ng QC" (2013-15)
- Professional Fellow, Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) wherein he worked at the Iowa Public Information Board
- Professorial Lecturer, Arellano University Pasig
- Volunteer at the Office of Rep. Roman Romulo
- Intern in Miriam Center for Peace Education

Young, vibrant, humble, strong-willed, well-mannered, intelligent, hopeful, positive, God-loving and most of all he's not a traditional politician. That's Victor Nubla Sotto is, and for his young age of 28, turning 29 this June 17, he's very determined and sure of his prime purpose for the Pasiguenos. When we first met Vico, my first impression of him was he really looks like his dad, Bossing Vic Sotto, even resembling his dad's voice too. As our conversation with him continues, I could see that he was brought up very well by her mom, actress Coney Reyes. I could see it the way he handled the questions, through his reactions... he was so respectable and selfless. I could feel how passionate and how dedicated he is to serve all the Pasiguenos (Pasig city folks). He really meant every word he say, he's very truthful and honest to his feelings and purpose. And that is ti bring "change" and progress to their beloved Pasig City.

Vico Sotto wanted to implement transparency in his leadership

Vico isalso a fearless candidate, when asked if he was receiving death threats, listen to what he said... Fearless as he is, Pasig Mayoral candidate Vico Sotto stood up and faced his competitors who have been reigning in Pasig City for 27 years. He was so brave enough and has a strong belief that the Pasiguenos are ready for a change...

Part of the interview was the issue about the campaign fund and costs. He admitted that being a candidate, means spending a lot of money, but as a young politician, he wanted to introduce "new style" without spending too much during election campaign.

Vico posted his last message in his Official Facebook Account last May 11, before the actual election on May 13 saying...

"Nung nanalo ako para konsehal nung 2016, hindi ko naisip na tatakbo na ako para sa mas mataas na posisyon sa susunod na halalan.

Ngunit habang palapit ng palapit ang deadline ng pag-file ng kandidatura, naging malinaw na walang ibang maglalakas loob para tumakbong mayor laban sa kasalukuyang nakaupo.

Sa mga nakita ko sa nakaraang tatlong taon – lalo na yung pang-aabuso ng kapangyarihan – sabi ko sa sarili ko, “Hindi ako papayag na walang lalaban sa 2019.” Kaya nandito tayo, tumitindig.

Ang laban na ito ay hindi akin lamang. Ang laban na ito ay:

PARA SA MGA BIKTIMA NG ILIGAL NA DEMOLISYON, tinapon sa malalayong lugar na hindi man lang maayos ang linya ng kuryente at tubig;

PARA SA PAMILYANG PINANGAKUAN NG LUPA, dekada na ang nakalipas, ngunit nanganganib pa ring mapaalis sa kahit anong oras;

PARA SA PINAKULONG, na wala naman kasalanan kundi magreklamo sa FB tungkol sa late na pagsuspindi ng klase;

PARA SA TRICYCLE DRIVER at MARKET VENDOR, na araw-araw hinaharap ang mga patakarang hindi makatarungang;

PARA SA NEGOSYANTE na gustong mag-negosyo ng marangal, ngunit hindi makakuha ng permit hangga’t walang lagay;

PARA SA EMPLEYADO NG MUNISIPYO, na dekada nang kontraktwal kahit na kwalipikado naman para ma-regularize;

PARA SA MAY SAKIT, pero pag punta sa city hospital/health center, sasabihing walang gamot o mabibigyan ng pa-expire na;

PARA SA MGA ASOSASYON, ‘tulad ng homeowners, seniors, at PTA, na hawak sa leeg at parating minamanipula nang para sa interes ng iilan;

AT PARA SA BAWAT ISANG PASIGUEÑO NA WALANG LABAN SA MGA MAKAPANGYARIHANG TAO, pero sa samut-saring dahilan at paraan, tinatakot, ginugulo, at ginigipit.

Dalawang tulog na lang, pipili na tayo ng magiging bagong alkalde ng Pasig. Panahon na para sa makabagong istilo ng pamumuno. Magtulungan tayo upang maipakilala ang bagong pamahalaan na ginagalang ang karapatan ng bawat isang Pasigueño, na bukas ang kaban ng bayan, at may pananagutan sa taumbayan.

Dalawang tulog na lang, nandito na ang TUNAY at PANGMATAGALANG PAGBABAGO na inaasam natin para sa ating mahal na ciudad.
