5 Loaves & 2 Fish Restaurant in Don Antonio Heights

The name of the restaurant, 5 loaves and 2 fish was taken from a verse in the bible.  This reflects the couples, Dina and Anthony Miro’s deep faith as Christians.

Ms. Dinah Grace M. Miro, one of the owners has been cooking for her family ever since. The primary product of the restaurant is the Lavosh, which was first introduced to the public in Mercato Central.  This homemade recipe of Dinah was able to land as one of the top choices in the Ultimate Taste Test in Mercato Central.  When she decided to open a cafe, she had two business names in mind when they decided to register, but both were taken already.  She prayed hard for inspiration and guidance.  And decided on a name that is bible-inspired, and at the same time, has a connection with "unleavened bread".Lavosh is a healthier alternative to chips and junk food and can be consumed as a snack. It comes in a variety of colors. A specific ingredient gives the lavosh its distinct color. ( pink lavash has beetroot, the orange one has carrots and the green one has spinach) The platter of lavosh comes with an array of interesting dips such as Pesto Brulee, Garlic Oil with Dulong,
Chicken Liver Pate and Tomato Coriander Salsa.

"Go Lokal" treat: Balayan Salad, Lengua Estofado and Tablea Cake

The restaurant recently launched a new treat for its customers, the Go Lokal. It offers three dishes that are very Filipino in taste and origin. The balayan salad, Lengua estofado, and the tablea cake. The Balayan salad has SALAD Lettuce, tomatoes with kesong puti,
tinapa flakes, and pickled mangoes. The dressing’s primary ingredient is the balayan bagoong. The lengua estofado is thinly sliced ox tongue in a special sauce served on a bed of mashed potatoes. The table cake is a rich and decadent dessert. The tableasa are outsourced from Davao.

The restaurant also serves an array of exciting and yummy cakes and cheesecakes, all of which are made by Dinah herself. The recipes are handed down from generation to generation.  The restaurant has an ongoing treat fro those with a sweet tooth, the Afternoon Treat. You’d be getting a slice of your favorite cake plus a cup of brewed coffee all for just 150 pesos.
