The contagious humor of Vhong Navarro is back via "Da Possessed" movie

They say, "You can never put a good man down." A very talented actor, a good friend, father and partner like Vhong has been through a lot lately. And yes, he's no perfect guy, but the thing is, he's now bouncing back, trying to live his usual showbiz life, his old natural self, the ever happy Vhong Navarro.

Vhong wouldn't be his usual self if he wouldn't make us laugh again. Of course, each and everyone of us deserves a "good laugh" after all, right? Being one of the most accomplished and most talented comedians of his generation, Vhong has managed to still be as professional as he was before, acting out as natural as he used to and inspiring other people to do the same.

Felt so good watching Vhong Navarro flash his wide, effortless smile :))

As Star Cinema opens its second quarter of 2014, "Da Possessed" movie becomes part of its grand 20th anniversary celebration. It is considered to be the most hilarious and most out-of-this-world comedy movie of the summer season. This movie marks Vhong's big screen comeback.

Wondered how Vhong has managed to be so undoubtedly funny in this movie? According to him, "It has always been my philosophy to always be happy and I want to spread all happiness that I can through my work not just as an actor but as a dancer and TV host as well. I am both overwhelmed and overjoyed with the solid support of ABS-CBN, Star Cinema and my fans. We worked very hard to make sure that everyone would enjoy 'Da Possessed.' We should all enjoy life together and we should all laugh together." I so much agree with you Vhong, being happy in everything we do could be so viral and it can be contagious in a good way, a kind of feeling that's supposed to fill every human's heart and mind.

"Da Possessed" director Bb. Joyce Bernal talks about Vhomg Navarro during filming of the said movie

After seven long years, the certified blockbuster director Bb. Joyce Bernal reunites with Vhong through "Da Possessed" movie. Direk describes Vhong as, "He is very, very effective in portraying his patented zero to hero characters. This, for me, is the reason why the entire nation loves and adores him. Vhong elevates the so-called normal guy in his movies. 'Da Possessed' is basically a story of a regular guy who will unwittingly embark in an amazing adventure and hopefully save the day at the end of the movie."

Apparently, direk Joyce Bernal and Vhong's first collaboration was 2003's smash hit "Mr. Suave" followed by two other successful films that completed the Vhong Navarro Movie Franchise namely "D Anothers" in 2005 and "Agent X44" in 2007. Direk Joyce also directed the record-breaking "Segunda Mano" which was Star Cinema's entry to Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) in 2011 and just recently directed "Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush Mo?" last year (2013) which starred the winning tandem / love team of Kim Chiu and Xian Lim. Also not to forget, direk Joyce bagged the coveted Best Director award in last year's MMFF.

During the blogcon, we've learned that one of direk Joyce's requirements for Vhong's leading lady in the "Da Possessed"  movie was, to be most willing to show-off her "underwear" in some proposed scenes in the said flick. And when it was offered to the gorgeous actress- VJ and model/ singer  Solenn Heussaff, she didn't have any second thoughts, hence, she perfectly complied to the requirements that made her most fit for the role of sexy boss named Anna.

Solenn Heussaff pairs-off for the first time with Vhong Navarro in a Star Cinema and Regal Films, film "Da Possessed."

"This is definitely a major milestone in my career. It's such an honor to work with Vhong, Direk Joyce, Star Cinema and Regal Films in this awesome project," says Solenn.

Moreover, Vhong had also shared some of his thoughts for their director, Bb. Joyce Bernal, he said, "Si direk kasi ang maganda sa kanya, kahit na magkaibigan kami, gusto n'ya china-challenge n'ya ko, para may maipakita raw akong bago. So ako naman nagta-try ako. Si direk kasi para mapatawa mo s'ya mahirap eh, magaling ang humor nito mataas ang humor nito nagpapatawa 'to di lang sya basta direktor. So pag di mo s'ya napatawa, ibig sabihin, di pasok 'yung sinuggest mo, pero pag oras na napatawa mo si direk, pasok 'yun."

Vhong even admitted that he feels pressured after Star Cinema's blockbuster movies in the 1st quarter of this year, 2014. He even joked on begging for everybody to watch their movie on April 19 hehehe.

Happy Vhong Navarro

Vhong plays simpleton Ramon who attempts to venture into landscape art, then he'll meet his sexy boss Anna whom he'll fall in love with. But complications will start to surface when three spirits from another world played by John "Sweet" Lapus (Kemerut), Empoy Marquez (Dado) and "Goin' Bulilit" talent Aaliyah Belmoro (Anga) get in his way during the process of accomplishing his job as a landscape artist and as Anna's suitor. The three ghosts were believed to be victims of injustice seeking revenge. They started to possess him and that signals riotous, wacky and hilarious turn of events in Ramon's life. Talked about some unfinished business here.

Graded B by the Cinema Evaluation Board (CEB) and  rated PG13 by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB), they promise to give a great laugh in every scene in the movie, and assures everyone who'll watch will go out of the theater with a happy heart and a big wide smile! As we all know, Vhong's humor is very contagious, right? hihi
