Ricky Gumera... raw talent with no limits

Ricky Gumera stars in "Anak ng Macho Dancer" as Kyle 

So who's this fresh face and talent named Ricky Gumera that has been making the buzz in showbizness recently? If his name doesn't sound familiar with you... well, I'll let you dive in to his world. 

Ricky auditioned for the movie "Anak ng Macho Dancer" which is being helmed by renowned and well-respected Direk Joel Lamangan and produced by the very generous Joed Serrano under Godfather Productions in cooperation with Blackwater. Being an amateur to the movie industry, he was still able to land a role as Kyle, the son of Jay Manalo in the story. As fresh and as raw as he is, Ricky had gained direk Joel and Joed's attention during his audition for being so open, confident and laying his cards telling that he has no limitations! 'Atta boy! Just like a real PRO huh?!!! 

Just recently, we were able to meet him personally during his own and actual mediacon which was held at the pool side somewhere in Makati. We were told that there will be an "explosive" and very "exclusive" opening number which we shouldn't miss.... contrary to that, Ricky has emerged and has submerged himself in the water... and was very profound and confident with his very lean and fit physique. His gestures, actions and expressions were all aptly and very well-executed. If I were to give a score, basing from the media's reaction and his over-all aura and "explosive" opening act, I will give him a perfect score of 10!!! 

He swims like a Merman ... 

He really nailed that one out there! "A" for effort too! Kudos to him and his manager Meg Perez for that opening salvo! He was so swift with the way he moves, projects and walk, and he owes this a lot with him being a ramp model also and he was also crowned the Mister Global Philippines 2019. 

Ricky belongs to a large family... he was brought up by his grandmother and grandfather whom he had thought were their real parents for a long time. He is the fourth child and has 10 siblings but with different known fathers. He has no knowledge about his real father, according to his beautiful mom, his dad's name is "Jun," from Batangas. Ricky's priority in life is his family, at 21 years old, he's so matured and firm with his disposition in life. This 5'11" stunner from Bacoor, is the bread winner of his family and is a BS Marine Transportation  graduate at the Philippine Merchant Marine School in Las Piñas. He had also experienced working on a ship for about a year before he engaged himself into showbiz just to earn extra income for his family.

During the mediacon, the Godfather Productions producer Joed Serrano, told everyone about the whole story why he granted Ricky and his family a house and lot which he already paid in advanced for one whole year. He said that he was so pitiful of Ricky's situation and home in Cavite and couldn't bear the thought of it. As generous as he is, he also had a deal with the five members of the "Anak ng Macho Dancer," who are of course Ricky, then Sean De Guzman, Charles Nathan, David Lucas, Miko Pasamonte plus himself that whatever the actual earnings of the movie on top of the investment, they will divide it into six. Such a very generous and fair treatment foe a producer like Joed! More projects to come so you'll be able to help more artists. 

Ricky plays the son of Jay Manalo, whom he admires most he admitted. But when asked if he thinks he can surpass the Jay's works and performances, Ricky answered yes without any hesitations and promises to even do better in his craft. 

"Anak ng Macho Dancer" is sort of a sequel to the 1988 film "Macho Dancer" which starred Allan Paule as the lead actor. It was directed by prime director Lino Brocka that gained a lot of attentions before. Today, after 32 years, the some of the original cast like Allan Paule, Jaclyn Jose and William Lorenzo will still be in the cast of "Anak ng Macho Dancer," joined by other actors like Jay Manalo, Rosanna Roces, Wendell Ramos, Emilio Garcia and more.
