Arjo Atayde wants more serious and deeper roles

Arjo Atayde

Arjo Atayde's name us synonymous to versatility. Coming from a showbiz royalty, Arjo  has definitely made his own "mark" in the industry.

He started his acting career seven years ago playing "Jepoy," in  2012 fanta-serye in ABS-CBN's E-boy. He was also one of the cute cast in "Ang TV" (2001-2002) where he and JM de Guzman got so close up until now that he consider him as brother.

His most celebrated role via tv series was his antagonistic role as Police C/Insp. Joaquin S. Tuazon (2015-2017)  in one of the longest-running primtetime teleserye, FPJ's: "Ang Probinsyano." His performance in that said tv series has brought him to a different level, yes, he was a villain but the people had come to like him... maybe because they see the person behind or beyond that character, according to Arjo.

Asked if he mind being typecasted in villain roles, he said he doesn't want to be typecasted in such character roles but he really wanted to do more serious and deeper roles like pprtraying a bipolar person, which he shares with his good friend  JM de Guzman.

In his current role as Benjo Malaya, a barber turned into a bagman then governor in a small town via his digital series entitled "Bagman 2," a sequel to his successful one that was released just this April. Playing a governor/bagman here has been so hard and very challenging for Arjo. According to him, it was both emotionally and mentally draining so he just shook off that character by merely watching comedy films and stand up comedy acts like that of Jokoy, Kevin Hart and the like.

We can see a different and in depth qcting of Arjo in "Bagman 2" and he is getting better and even deeper with every role he portrays.

To you Arjo dear, congrats again for another superb performance in "Bagman 2" and may you achieve every wish, every bucketlist you have. Keep your feet grounded and God bless you even more!!!
