During the past 15 years, SFI, the flagship company of SFI Group of Companies that runs 5 other independent business subsidiary corporations (BusinessTrends (A Kelly Services Company), Temps & Staffers, SFI CareerCenter, SFI International and SFI Management Consultancy) also spearheaded efforts to further raise the bar in helping solve not just the unemployment problem but also skills and career mismatch concerns among the country’s workforce. It partnered with several public and private institutions to address several areas of concern and further increase employability opportunities of more Filipino jobseekers.

Last year, SFI partnered with the Department of Labor and Employment regarding the “Philippine Talent Map Initiative,” which aims to help examine the strengths and weaknesses of today’s workforce, plus create relevant policies and responsive programs to develop a sustainable, inclusive and competitive talent pipeline in preparation for the Philippines’ being part of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Integration initiative.

SFI also collaborated with the Provincial Government of Bataan, beginning with Balanga City and further on to 11 other municipalities to conduct the Keytrain Efficacy Study, a workforce development initiative to address employment readiness skills of students in the province. Out of the 520 students that were given grants, 322 students were able to get international career readiness certificates.

The human resource provider also helped in the “JobStart Philippines” scholarship program, an initiative funded by the Asian Development Bank through a grant from Canada. It aims to help graduates and unemployed but deserving Filipino youth improve their technical skills in order to successfully find jobs and be competitive in the workplace, skills-wise. The program was launched in four (4) pilot areas: Quezon City, Taguig, Pampanga and Cavite.

The 55th anniversary celebration success was highlighted by SFI’s awarding of recognition to its 16 partner-companies in all its endeavors for more than 5 decades.  Among these are International Wiring System Information, Easy Bio Philippines Inc., Primepoint Resources Corporation, Concentrix Services Corporation, AES Masinloc Power Partners Company Limited, Clark Airport Support Services Corporation, National Grid Corporation of the Philippines, Philippine International Convention Center, Republic Cement Services Inc., National Power Corporation, Lima Land, Inc., DCMI Power Corporation, Bank of the Philippine Islands, Philippine Savings Bank, Metrobank & Trust Company and Petron Corporation.

“We would not have been successful in all our endeavours without these private companies, and of course with the backing of DOLE through Sec. Rosalinda Dimapili-Baldoz, who tirelessly worked with us in our initiatives. We hope to be able to do more in the future together with our partners, all for the benefit of our Filipino workforce so that they may not have to leave the country and work abroad but be able to work competitively right in our very shores,” explains Luis Alberto Anastacio, President and Chief Executive Officer of SFI.  For more about Servicio Filipino, Inc., visit https://sfigroupofcompanies.com
