Thousand Teas: My Healthiest AnTEAcipation Unleashed

TEA

Lao Tzu, founder of Taoism has regarded tea very highly and described it as "the froth of the liquid jade"- an indispensable ingredient to the elixir of life.
A historical icon, tea served as a witness to the history of men. From the mountains of China to the coasts of America. It was a potent flavor in the steeping of the modern civilization.

Arising from a humble plant called Camella Sinensis, a variety of tea beverages can be brewed, thus,
has fulfilled its promise of  concocting health benefits.

When we hear the word "tea," it absolutely connotes a healthy drink which is beneficial for all of us, right?  That is why, when I got the invitation to try it out and have a tea session with blogger/ friends at
Thousand Teas located at the ground floor, MEZZA building, Aurora Blvd., corner Araneta Ave., San Juan City, Metro Manila, I was filled with so much anticipation.

Thousand Teas' Freshly Baked Scones (only Php 55.00) best consumed while drinking tea especially with a smile from their friendly staff :))

Mr. Gilbert Jim, (we call him "Papa Chen" aka Richard Yap look at the close resemblance hihi), Thousand Teas Managing Director, was so amiable and generous in sharing us the brief history of tea, its attributes and some ways (traditional and modern) on how to appreciate and enjoy our tea.

Mr. Jim (holding a milk tea) has always a ready smile for everyone

Harvesting, picking and processing Camella Sinensis bush yields 5 classes of tea: white tea, green tea, oolong tea, black tea and pu·erh tea. The health benefits of tea has already been recognized 5,000 years ago; it is used as a treatment for infectious diseases, colds, an aid to digestive and nervous systems. It is also being connected in lowering chances of acquiring variety of diseases like cancer and cardiovascular disease with constant consumption.

Tea is usually the chosen drink of athletes. It can fast track the metabolism through a process called "thermogenesis," thereby maximizing the benefits of a good workout while increasing endurance. It also increases mental alertness and concentration. It is also believed that tea reduces levels of stress hormones having the substance called theanine, it has the capacity to improve the body's immune system helping it keep up with the fast pace of modern times. Adding to that, tea has been also helpful providing wellness and beauty,  it aids in soothing the dry skin, it can detoxify or relieve acne, can heal and rejuvenate skin.
