"A Secret Affair" To Remember
Are secrets really
bound to be disclosed? Have you experienced sharing the most discrete
part of your life to someone? Do you have enough guts to reveal your
secrets to the person you dearly love? Or let’s put it this way, have you had “A
Secret Affair,” that you’ve been dreading it might come out and would greatly
affect your relationship?
It all just started
with one “casual sex.” And after that very daring and lustful encounter of Sam
(Andi Eigenman) and Anton (Derek Ramsay), the inevitable complication has begun, as if fate was playing a game on the main characters of the
story, including Rafi (Anne Curtis).

If we’re just going
to base our impression of the movie, “A Secret Affair,” from the series of trailers
per se, one might say it was a sort of “copy cat” from the previous box-office
hit movie, “No Other Woman,” that was shown last year with Anne Curtis as the
other woman, Cristine Reyes as the legal wife and the “Universal leading man,”
Derek Ramsay as the man torn between two beautiful women (oh boy, he was really
that lucky huh!). But this is a different story of love triangle, I bet you.
You know guys, you
really have to be there inside the theater and experience the thrill and excitement
and hear those wonderful and remarkable exchange of lines between the
characters of the story; each of them had shown superb acting most especially
Ms. Jaclyn Jose, who until now, doesn’t fail to impress the audience with her
own style. Check out her striking line... “Shut up! Bitch ka lang, ako super
bitch!” hahaha love it! :)):)) I became more observant of the lines being delivered by Anne and
Andi. It was so impressive how they deliver it with grace, timing, confidence
and wit and it was kinda funny too, kudos to them. :))

Just to name few of
my fave lines, Anne told Andi in one of their confrontations while they were at
the car park of a certain mall: “Alam mo girl, kulang ka lang sa kape, alam mo
kung saan masarap magkape? Sa burol mo!” And another scene in a cafe- Rafi to
Sam: “Sana lang maipasa na ‘yung Rh Bill para hindi na ipinapanganak ang mga
taong katulad mo.” I don’t intend to pre-empt the curiosity in you guys but I
can’t help to share you Rafi’s very emotional line to Anton during their
confrontation scene- “Ano ‘yun, masasabi mo bang you were physically unfaithful
but emotionally faithful to me?!” Don’t you find it very intriguing and
interesting? :))

In all fairness to
Andi Eigenman, she was really effective in her role as a stubborn, bratty, self-centered
girl who only wanted to be loved and give love to the man she thought was the
one for her. She’d risk everything to get him (Anton) and win him over Rafi
even if it would cause harm and affect their friendship. It reminds me of Andi’s
very possessive and obsessive character in the on-going ABS-CBN’s Kapamilya
teleserye, “Kahit Puso’y Masugatan,” no wonder she is so much at ease with that
type of role, she did justice to it and proved to be very effective in “bitchy”
stuffs.
I couldn’t help but
share with you one of the most thrilling scenes from the movie, I call it the “I’ll
Shut Up If You’ll Kiss Me” scene. OMG! That was so breathtaking! One piece of
advice, don’t ever close your eyes on this scene. You want hint? Fire Exit hihi
Social media is
really becoming more relevant and apt in our community. In one part of the
movie, I’m pretty sure you’ll enjoy Rafi and Sam’s exchange of views, rants and
shoutouts utilizing social networks like Twitter and Facebook. It was so
practical and very realistic! I had a great laugh while watching; for it was so
artistically done, and again, kudos to the creative team, it was so entertaining and
outrageous, believe me and you better check that out!
The ever gorgeous Anne, remember this pic ;)
"Bitchy and daring" Sam played by Andi
Aside from the sexy,
steamy and sizzling scenes of Anton with Rafi and Sam (it’s expected, of
course) we could learn a lesson or two and relate with every character in the
movie. Romantic and beautiful relationships like that of Anton and Rafi’s, when
intruded by a third party, and all other factors like lies, betrayal and
deception, would really banish this “thing” that is not given, it is something
that is earned.... it’s the “trust.” I must say that threading thru life, we
must also learn to give, forgive, accept and let go; and from there, we move on
to the next chapter. We should not also commit ourselves if we know we couldn't stand for it and live by it. Never entertain impulsive and aggressive decisions
when you’re aware, it might ruin your life and eventually be regretful in the
end.
“A Secret Affair” is
really a movie to be remembered. It speaks of the slapping truth and goes right
into our hearts and minds. It is something to think of... a lesson for everyone
and is relaying the message that, if we still have the power and time to control
over things, don’t ever lose it or else, you’ll have to face and suffer its
consequences.
