Have you ever doubted yourself of your capability in leaving someone you love most? As in up to what extent would you think you could bear just to still be with him or her? Are there any basis or gauge as to what limit you are suppose to give to your loved one? Have you ever thought about it? Or have you experienced it? Is it worth the stay? Is he or she worth-keeping? I guess it all depends on every situation and consequences.
In my own experience, I've had made the biggest decision of my life so far, and have thought about it not just few but a hundred times, have weighed all the consequences and fortunately, here I am, a survivor of a failed relationship but if you would ask me, I had no regrets, I think I am bound to be this way, raise my one and only son and enjoy every single bit of our lives together. But in the case of GMA's newest tv series, "Hindi Ko Kayang Iwan Ka," they have a different tune. It's totally different from mine.
Yasmien Kurdi is Thea Balagtas
Yasmien Kurdi is Thea, a very promising CPA (Certified Public Accountant), she lives a very simple life with her family in the suburbs. Lawrence played by Martin del Rosario is her trusted bestfriend, not until he took advantage of her one night after a big celebration they had with common friends in a bar. Martin had consequently raped Thea, and this had ruined and changed her bright future.
To get away from the shame and scandal of her ill-fated incident with her bestfriend Lawrence, she asked help from a friend in the city where she was hired as a bar employee. From there, she met Marco, a young, sincere and well-off lad who pursued her despite her dark past. To make the story short, they got married even if Marco's nom, Adelaida played by Ms. Gina Alajar, strongly refused it.

Thea had giver birth to a fraternal twins, and this has made her married life happier, more complete and stronger. When Thea's mother, Magda, played by Ms. Sharmaine Buencamino, got ill and Thea had herself checked for her mom was in need of a blood donor. Her almost beautiful world was turned upside down as soon as she has learned that she has an immune disorder whis is HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus). When she has told her husband about this delicate matter, he was so shocked and had himself checked as well, as expected, Marco is also HIV positive.
Everything in their life suddenly went astray, Marco is blaming and accusing Thea of cheating while Thea confronted her ex-bestfriend Lawrence, since he was the first one whom she got engaged with sexually. But Lawrence had denied the accusations, claiming himself as clean and safe.

Incidents like this can happen to anyone, whether we like it or not, we should be really strong, hold on together, pray and never lose hope. This is the main reason that we have our family, whom we can rely or depend on. But ironicaly, the family that we treasure most is also the reason for our downfall like the case of Thea, where her husband is threatening for a divorce. We'll witness how could Thea handle her rwist of fate, how she loses her hope and regain hope to live a fulfilling life with her family.
"Hindi Ko Kayang Iwan Ka," is GMA's very first advoca-serye, where they are primarily dedicated to make the people aware of what is HIV, its effects and how to deal with the people with HIV and if someone is infected with it, this is the right platform for us to watch to help us to understand them more and everything about the dreadful virus which attacks the human immunity.
The cast had also shared that they had also participated in various activities and institutions involving HIV. They had personally had encounters with HIV patients and from those people, they had learned and given them a different kind of perspective in life which they also want the viewers to perceive as they watch #HKKIK .
"Hindi Kayang Iwan Ka," is indeed not just an ordinary tv drama series.

Yasmien breathes life to Thea Balagtas, a simple provincial girl with a promising career as a public accountant. She falls in love with Marco and marries him. Eventually, they are blessed with fraternal twins whom they love very much.
Martin is Lawrence De Leon, Thea's college friend from a well-off family. Secretly, he is in love with her even though he dates a lot of women and develops HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) from this.
Jackie is Ava Imperial, Marco's beautiful and socialite ex-girlfriend. She shuffles to and from the United States for pleasure and business. Even though she flirts around, she is still bent on settling with Marco.
Mike is Marco Angeles, a handsome and charming lad who falls in love with Thea and marries her despite his mother's refusal. He remains independent and grounded even though he was born rich.
Hindi Ko Kayang Iwan Ka follows the life of Thea who, after marrying Marco and raising their fraternal twins together, her blissful life shatters when she tests positive for HIV. Without knowing who she got it from, Marco is led to believe that she cheated on him and files for legal separation, taking their kids with him. Her disease worsens and she loses her will to live. But when she unexpectedly meets her daughter a few years later, she finds it in herself to fight more than just HIV--her greatest opponent, herself.
Joining them in this ground-breaking project are multi-talented and versatile artists: award-winning film actress and TV director Gina Alajar as Adelaida Angeles, Marco's elitist and territorial mother who always resorts to schemes in order to get what she wants; Shamaine Buencamino as Magda Balagtas, Thea's superstitious mother who will fight with her through and through; Charee Pineda as Anna Balagtas, Thea's older sister who deeply cares for her mother and sibling; Ina Feleo as Sofia Angeles, Marco's older and principled sister who is a doting aunt to the twins; Mike "Pekto" Nacua as Tantoy Cruz, Thea's cousin who will fight for her; Catherine Rem as Olga Cruz, Thea's feisty cousin who works and resides in Manila; Caprice Cayetano as Angela Angeles, the daughter of Thea and Marco who grows up as a daddy's girl; Seth Dela Cruz as Maurice Angeles, Thea and Marco's son among the fraternal twins.
The series aims to raise HIV awareness and educate viewers on its effects upon a person's life through an intriguing drama--that even in our weaknesses, strength can be found if we only rise and have the courage to fight for our loved ones and ourselves.
Behind this engrossing drama is the creative team composed of Creative Director Roy Iglesias; Concept creator Zita Garganera; Headwriter Suzette Doctolero; Creative Head for Afternoon Prime Block Dode Cruz and Creative Consultant Kit Langit.
