Procter & Gamble and Robinsons Supermarket Join Forces with Mothers to Further Strengthen Their Advocacy of Wellness


 What happens when mothers come together to celebrate their personal advocacy of wellness? A Wellness Moms Movement emerges- a movement of change by mothers rallying as one for a better and healthier lifestyle. 

Celebrity mothers and special guests were present during the official launch of Wellness Moms by Procter & Gamble and Robinsons Supermarket held recently at Marco Polo Ortigas, where different aspects of motherhood—Baby, Family/Household, and Personal Wellness—were openly discussed by celebrity mom guests Denise Laurel, Nikka Martinez-Garcia, and host Issa Litton during the talk show that highlighted as well P&G’s own wellness products and how they fit into one's life. 


For example, Mom’s son returns home after playing outside, washing his hands with Safeguard for 99.9% germ protection before eating dinner. After mealtime, Mom can now easily wash away the grease of the dirty dishes with Joy Antibac, as well as any stains on her son’s clothes with Ariel Power Gel. Night time arrives and her baby daughter needs to sleep, so Mom soothes baby with Vicks Baby Rub, putting on her Pampers for a dry, peaceful sleep, covering her in a soft, comfy blankie, thanks to Downy Baby Gentle. These wellness products and their home benefits were presented in the Mealtime Tips and Bedtime Tips Wellness videos released online. 

Moms shared their personal tips and bytes of advice to one another, talking about how Wellness Mom products have helped make their life at home an easier, safer, healthier and happier one.  Also, to further showcase the unity of this movement, a special Moms for Wellness mosaic wall made up of photos of different moms around the country was also revealed.




Aside from P&G, Robinsons Supermarket, who has always supported the wellness movement, has proven that two is better than one when it comes to progress and change. This mutual undertaking paved the way for a solid partnership, which was also officially revealed last Thursday through the Wellness Moms promo! From now on, whenever one buys three of the participating Wellness Moms products (Safeguard, Joy Antibac, Ariel Power Gel, Downy Baby Gentle, Oral-B, Pampers, or Vicks Baby Rub) at any Robinsons Supermarket, he/she will instantly receive Robinsons Supermarket GC’s worth 50 pesos!


The media launch of the new Wellness Moms movement was not only an informative event, but also a fun gathering of moms who only want what’s best for their families. Warehouse Shopping without the Membership Best Value Factory Food Outlet




This Holiday Season may be the best time to try shopping at the Best Value Factory Food Outlet, one of the best kept secrets in the industry. When you name your store Best Value, you need to have the goods to back it up – and they do. But this year they realized that expansion meant choices, and so they decided to carry other brands as well, making them a full-fledged store. 




One of the reasons the store expanded to include more and more items is simply because the customers kept asking.  For instance, since they already sold the soft serve mixes, customers also looked for the cones, the syrups and the toppings. “They wanted basic commodities, like flour and sugar, so our goal is to complete the product lines,” says Guia.  This is why you’ll also see products adjacent items such as packaging material and chocolate and cookie molds. 


Predictably, Food Service and Horeca (Hotel, Restaurant, Café) industries make up a large portion of their customer base. The rest have food kiosks/stalls bakeries, some are hobbyists and homemakers. Pretty much anyone will benefit from their products. “For all your culinary needs” is not just a tagline. They have a range of mixes, syrups, sauces, toppings, flavorings, spices, breadings, among other dry goods and even frozen meats. While food items are their primary product, there are also other like soaps, cleaners and laundry detergents because the food service companies also need those and their parent company, D&L Industries, manufactures those products as well. 


The company also encourages entrepreneurship with their HANEP (Buhay) Negosyo Packages. The store sells equipment such as soft serve ice-cream makers, granita slushee mixes, juice mixes, 3-in-1 Vendo, and Popcorn Maker. It’s a smart move as they’ve become a one-stop shop for all your entrepreneurial needs. The streamlining just makes it easier. They also conduct free seminars and demos to educate interested customers.  
As always, it’s the people who really make the experience shopping here an enjoyable experience. Best Value knows their customers not just because they’re often repeat customers, but because they engage them, and it’s those personal touches that really make the customers feel heard. When some of their shoppers went looking for Organic Apple Cider Vinegar in the shop because there was a shortage in the usual places, Guia herself searched for other suppliers and it wasn’t long before they were on the shelf. It is this kind of personalized service and the products themselves that have brought fast growth to the company and definite expansion plans for next year. As Guia puts it, “We are also learning from the customers.”

The "Oh My Mama" lesson

Each and everyone of us has our own sacrifice/s in life. Inah de Belen, belongs to a showbiz royalty being Janice de Belen and John Estrada as her parents who are both equally great in their crafts and acting profession. No wonder Inah really has what it takes to make it here in showbizness. 


Inah is very thankful because GMA Network has given their full trust and confidence in this project which is her starring role. She plays Maricel in the story and it is based on the 1981 film if the same title with Maricel Soriano and William Martinez in lead roles directed by Tony Pascua under Good Harvest Productions. 

GMA's "Oh My Mama" story evolves about a young girl in search for his real father. While she devotes her time searching, she had found out that his real dad works for a syndicate forcing young blood/ kids to work that is punishable by law (child labor). She had become close and has developed attachment to the kids played by Teri Malvar as Peewee, Jhiz Deocareza as Bayani, Bryce Eusebio as Bimbo, David Remo as Empoy and Sofia Pablo as Nicole.

In order to make things right, they have decided to escape from the syndicate and live their own lives with Maricel as their single adult companion whom they call Mama Cel.

The take away lesson that we've learned from "Oh My Mama" is that being independent, kind-hearted, family oriented and helpful really pays a lot. For us humans, we have this certain instinct that we are concerned and offer our help to the needy. Regardless of what we would become or what we will have as a result of helping others, Maricel really stood up to her acquired responsibilty despite her young age. 

And as a Filipino, part of our culture is being family-oriented. One would really seek for his/her own blood roots like what Maricel did when she dedicatedly pursued her search for her real father. Amidst all the trials, hardships and sacrifices she still managed to resurface and achieve what she wanted in her life.

The Goldilocks' Giant Sweet Attackers come alive! 

When we talk about sweets, cakes, pastries and everything, Goldilocks easily pops in our minds am I correct? Goldilocks has been with us for 50 years and has been part of our celebration be it a birthday, baptism, wedding, graduation, Christmas. New Year, Anniversary, Valentine's Day and a lot more!

scorers from the past month were invited to compete among themselves for the chance

through several elimination rounds, until one sweet champion emerged. 

The afternoon was abuzz with excitement and entertainment as players and spectators 
alike enjoyed the festivities, not to mention the scrumptious Goldilocks treats and 
giveaways.

The Domino's Effect



A “domino effect” is defined as “a cumulative outcome that is produced when a single event initiates a succession of similar events”. Domino’s Pizza Philippines has stayed true to this meaning, and yet has added so much more. The country’s pizza delivery expert has demonstrated that the simple act of receiving a delicious box of Domino’s pizza creates an outward (and contagious) ripple of joy, delight, and cheerfulness. Indeed, it is enough to make you momentarily forget about the weariness and challenges of the day, and instead focus on “love at first bite” – that’s the #DominosEffect !

Hope and Glory


The Hope Christian High School Alumni Association Inc. (HCHSAAI) will be having a Grand Alumni Homecoming in celebration of its Alma Mater's 70th Foundation Day at the Manila Hotel Fiesta Pavilion on November 20, 2016.

The host celebrants this year are the Golden Jubilarians (Minstrels '66）led by Mr Robert F. Kuan, who is the recipient of the Golden Jubilarian Excellence Award, and the Silver Jubilarians (Colours '91) led by Ms. Lyn Ching-Pascual, host of GMA7's Unang Hirit.

The program includes the awarding ceremonies for the Most Outstanding Alumni, Golden Jubilarian Excellence Award and Alumni Recognition Awards in various fields. The Golden Jubilarian Excellence Award will be awarded to  Mr. Robert F. Kuan, who founded Chowking Food Corporation and served as President from 1985 to March 2000. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the St. Luke's Medical Center and is a trustee at  Far Eastern College-Silang, and Brent International School of Manila. He has been an Independent Director of China Banking Corporation and also serves as Chairman of Creative Dining Incorporated, Goodview Seafood Restaurant and Hot Café.



This prestigious award is a highlight of the homecoming. In 2014 the award was given to Dr. Cecilio Kwok Pedro, the CEO of Lamoiyan Corporation and an elder of the United Evangelical Church of the Philippines. Kwok was a school board chairman and served as acting principal of Hope Christian High School.  His devotion to God, excellence in business, and his unselfish service to Hope Christian High School are the traits that all recipients of this award share.

This year’s Most Outstanding  Alumni is Johnny T. Chan, who is the visionary chairman of Bellevue Hotels and Resorts (BH&R).

The Hope Christian High School Alumni Association champions many projects. They have annual subsidies for alumni children enrolled in Hope Christian High School as well as scholarships for desolate but deserving students. The current project of the alumni association is replacing the roof of the gym. One generous alumni donated and bought new Handbells to revive the Handbell Group. Another alumni has a fleet of fire trucks and ambulance to respond to fire and emergency rescues pro-bono. Many are also active members of the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Chinese Industrial Club, Rotary International, Lions Club and Kiwanis while others are seated at the Board of Directors of other schools and religious organizations.




The guest speaker for the event will be Senator Sonny M. Angara.

A total of 70 exciting prizes will be raffled: cash, watches, and gadgets (Apple i-phones and Apple i-pads). The Grand Prize is a Ford Ecosport SUV 1.5 Titanium.
