"Pinoy Big Brother ALL IN” Grand Kick Off, get to know the 18 housemates



In a season of many firsts and tremendous revelations, “Pinoy Big Brother ALL IN” finally uncovered on Sunday (April 27 worldwide and April 28 in New Zealand) via The Filipino Channel (TFC), its 18 official housemates who are a mix of teens, regular, and celebrity housemates, including one of its hosts, Alex Gonzaga, the last housemate to be introduced at its official grand kick off outside the famous Bahay ni Kuya.


Gonzaga’s entry to the famous bahay ni Kuya shocked not just viewers but also her sister and co-host, Toni Gonzaga. When Big Brother or Kuya got the chance to talk to Gonzaga, who is dubbed as the season’s Sassy Sister of Rizal, he said he wants Gonzaga to experience the life of a housemate so she can be an effective host of the show.

“PBB ALL IN” started surprising viewers when it revealed the first two housemates on “ASAP ‘19”: the Jock-Next-Door of Taguig, Axel Torres, and Rising Celebri-teen of Quezon City, actress Jane Oineza.

The surprises continued in “Buzz ng Bayan” as the next three housemates were introduced: the Biba Rakitera of Valenzuela, Cess Visitacion who used to sell pirated DVDs and played bit roles in TV shows and commercials; the Simpatikong Salesman of CamSur, Chevin Cecilio, who is now trying his luck in real estate to help his family; and 15-year-old Nichole Baranda, the Sweet Revelation of Makati, who joined the show to find and prove herself as a person and to make her mom, Phoemela Baranda, proud.

The remaining housemates were then introduced during the grand kick off of “PBB ALL IN.” Aina Solano, the Dancing Bombshell of Boracay, who is training to become a mermaid-swimming teacher was first introduced followed by the Devoted Daughter of Las Piñas,23-year-old and licensed nurse, Jayme Jalandoni.

Also joining them are 16-year-old and out-of-school youth, Joshua Garcia named the Tatay’s Boy of Batangas, and the Wonder Son of Quezon City, Manolo Pedroso, who is also 16 years old and never had a girlfriend despite the fact that he was a heartthrob in different schools where he studied.

Next to be introduced were the Singing Sunshine of Davao, Maris Racal, who at 16 is very passionate about music and knows how to play the piano, ukulele, and guitar, and the Maginoong Marino of Quezon, Ranty Portento, a seafarer who works in a cruise ship and the season’s oldest housemate at 26.

Aside from Oineza ang Gonzaga, volleyball superstar dubbed as the Spunky Spiker of Quezon City, Michelle Gumabao was included in the roster of this season’s celebrity housemates. Gumabao is the daughter of actor-politician-turned-pastor Dennis Roldan.

Also introduced were twins Fourth and Fifth Pagotan, the Brad Bait and Brad Kulit of Pasay. The former is a chef at a five-star luxury hotel, while the latter is a businessman and owns a hamburger stall in Manila.

Completing this season’s housemates are theater actor Jacob Benedicto, the Cutie Crooner of Parañaque; freelance model and Mutya ng Pilipinas International 2011 Vickie Rushton, named as the Lady Mahinhin of Bacolod; and 15-year-old student and a member of the talented group 3G, Loisa Andalio, dubbed as theTalented Darling of Parañaque.

The grand kick off was hosted by Toni Gonzaga, Bianca Gonzalez, John Pratts, Robi Domingo, and host-turned-housemate Alex Gonzaga. Former housemates Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson, Zanjoe Marudo, Ejay Falcon, Jason Gainza, Nene Tamayo, Jason Francisco, Ryan Bang, Keanna Reeves, Yayo Aguila, James Reid, Gaby Dela Merced, Beauty Gonzales, Myrtle Sarrosa, and Yves Flores were also present to welcome and support the new PBB housemates.


Viewers and followers of the show also warmly welcomed the new housemates as the grand kick off recorded a national TV rating of 20.5%, or almost twice its rival program in the Philippines that got a 10.9% rating.


Micro-blogging site Twitter was also dominated by “PBB ALL IN” and its housemates with 10 out of 10 trending topics in the Philippines.
