"It Takes a Man and a Woman," is this the end of their love story?

After four years, box-office royalties John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo had returned via their comeback movie, "It takes a Man and a Woman," as on-screen loveteam of the first and most successful romantic comedy series in the history of Philippine cinema. Graded A by the Cinema Evaluation Board and co-produced by Star Cinema and Viva Films, the movie is set to hit cinemas nationwide on Saturday, March 30, 2013.

John Lloyd was simply clad in his very neat white long sleeves with shorts (nice!) while Sarah was wearing a pretty, figure hugging outfit (sexy!) during
"It Takes a Man and a Woman" blog conference

The well-loved characters of Laida Magtalas and Miggy Montenegro were brought to life by great actors Sarah Geronimo and John Lloyd Cruz respectively. Both stars have admitted having been attached to their characters as John Lloyd said in the movie's blog conference, "Talagang naging personal 'yung journey ni Miggy to this date, I can very much identify with him, sa mga natutunan n'ya, sa mga pinagdaanan n'ya, especially itong part 3, 'yung mga sinabi sa'kin ng tatay ko in the story, tumatak talaga s'ya."

John Lloyd got emotional when he answered the same question during the movie's grand presscon held at the Dolphy theater

The more relaxed, cool and very "Lloydie" peg during the movie's blogcon :))

While Sarah talked about the lesson she'd learned from her character in the story, "Ang natutunan ko sa kanya, importante 'yung pag nagmahal ka, importante na 'yung mature ka, nandodoon 'yung understanding, at pag nagmahal ka kasama 'yung pain, kasama 'yung joy... lahat kailangan handa kang tanggapin ng lahat ng 'yun, 'yung forgiveness, dun mo malalaman kapag mahal mo ang isang tao kapag willing kang mag-forgive... dun mo malalaman 'yung worth ng tao para sa'yo kapag kinaya mong magpatawad." If only you could see how Sarah expressed her feelings and thought while she was explaining how she felt about her character, it really came from her heart, and I guess, we could say that, the Popstar princess has really matured surviving from the past experiences of her life.

The braver, the bolder, the fiercer and the more mature Sarah Geronimo during the movie's grand presscon and blogcon

Speaking of maturity, the beautiful director of "It takes a Man and a Woman," direk Cathy Garcia-Molina talked about the maturity of the two main actors, John Lloyd and Sarah especially,"Four years have passed, almost five, di'ba panahon na para mag-mature sila? And ako natakot talaga ako kasi si Sarah, hindi talaga kami nagkita for that duration, since 'yung 'You've Changed...,' si Lloydie kasi nakagawa pa kami ng ilang pelikula eh, so natakot talaga ako, "ano kaya ito, gnun pa rin kaya si Laida?' Ay, hindi... nung nagkita kami parang sakto, sakto 'yung nagawang kuwento ni ate Carmi kasi, nag-mature na rin si Laida sa sarili n'yang personal na buhay. Maturity is you know, not being too serious and less giggly ano,  in the way she thinks, the way she sees life now, what she talks about, the talks that they have on the set, the questions she asks me, nakikita ko, 'Uhm... si Sarah, hindi na si Sarah na luma, wala na, ano na s'ya, may natutunan na, nakatulong kung anuman ang napagdaanan n'ya sa apat na taon na 'yun, pero malaking naitulong. Si Lloydie naman po kasi constant 'yung aming pagkikita, at saka 'yun na nga, matagal na 'yang mature, hahaha."

Direk Cathy Garcia-Molina happily shares her thoughts on Sarah and John Lloyd "It Takes a Man and a Woman" during the blogcon held at the Star Cinema conference room

"It Takes a Man and a Woman" director, Ms. Cathy Garcia-Molina and
screenplay writer Ms. Carmi Raymundo

John Lloyd and Sarah admitted that they had difficulties in starting anew with their characters in the movie. Actually, a lot had happened to both of them for four years, in their personal and professional lives. Sarah was more thankful to direk Cathy for being so patient with her especially, for everything, she even consider direk a "fuel" for her to function and work properly. Lloydie also admitted that for him personally, he also had a hard time trying to portray his character as Miggy who'd been indifferent in this third sequel of their rom-com series. And on that note, Sarah's character, Laida, will come to his rescue. The ever-reliable and ever-dependable Laida, as always. :))

The well-loved on-screen loveteam, John Lloyd and Sarah

During the blogcon, Sarah vehemently admitted that, if she weren't "Sarah Geronimo," she can be a "Laida Magtalas." Here's what she replied to my question,"Yes! Ang lapit kasi namin eh, sobrang pareho kami. Sabi ko nga, marami akong na-experience pero si Laida, mas nag-mature s'ya. Basta ako, syempre wini-wish ko rin na ma-meet ko someday 'yung magiging "Miggy Montenegro" ko.

The beautiful Sarah G. !!!

We could expect a lot of changes, challenges, maturity and lessons from this third installment of the movie, having started on "A Very Special Love," with Laida and Miggy as less mature, giggly type of couple, followed by "You Changed My Life," as the title itself denotes, their love for each other somehow changed their lives continuing now with "It Takes a Man and a Woman," and as their love story progresses, everyone had to take the road of maturity (but not too serious, you know), for them to be called man and woman

Watch how they face each other's lives after the break-up, their encounters, their journey, feel  how their families love and support them no matter what, be with them during their fall, their triumph... and witness how they grow into love until the end.

And now, the final question: "Will this be the end of their love story?"
If you wish to know the answer... watch it!

Re-discover love by watching "It Takes a Man and a Woman" with a powerful supporting cast like Rowell Santiago, Al Tantay, Irma Adlawan, Joross Gamboa, Gio Alvarez, Matet De Leon, Guji Lorenzana, Miles Ocampo, Johnny Revilla, Dante Rivero and introducing in this film, model-host Isabelle Daza as Belle, the socialite girlfriend of Miggy.

For Nationwide Recognition: TOFARM 2013 Launched

Universal Harvester, Inc. (UHI) Executive Vice President, Milagros Ong How sealed the TOFARM 2013 launching with a handshake with JCI 2013 National President Ryan C. Ravanzo

Resulting from the colossal success of TOFARM (Search and Award for THE OUTSTANDING FARMERS of the PHILIPPINES) 2012, the Philippine Jaycees (JCI Philippines) and Universal Harvester, Inc. (UHI) had recently launched its second executive search for the outstanding Filipino farmers in the prestigious recognition program for the most noteworthy achievers in various categories of the farming sector.

The search and award for farmers is an initiative since the early 70’s by the Philippine Jaycees (now Junior Chamber International Philippines) and the Planter’s Products. An award program in recognition of the resiliency, ingenuity, and the strength of our hard working Filipino farmers. The program is anchored in promoting farming in the youth sector in all regions. The search will be inclusive and participative, expanding from public to private sector stakeholders in agriculture, fisheries and livestocks. This project is open to all Filipino farmers, fisherfolk, animal raisers, cooperatives, farm communities, organizations, education/academe, agriculture scientist, LGUs and public employees, and business entities in both rural and urban areas/centers.

Aside from recognizing the outstanding and unsung heroes of the fields, seas and urban areas from North Luzon to Southern Mindanao, its primary goal is to foster steady increase of youth venturing in the agriculture sector, invigorating investment and scientific advancement to achieve sustainable food supply.

Mamerto B. Rarangol from San Mateo, Isabela was named Farmer of the Year at the
TOFARM awards night last January 24, 2013

Ruste, JCI 2012 National President; Rommel Magaling Cunanan, TOFARM National Chairman; Senator Francis Pangilinan, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Food graced the awarding last January held at Raffles, Makati  and Mrs. Milagros Ong-How, UHI Executive Vice President

Mrs. Milagros Ong-How with the recognized panel of preliminary judges from the ranks of JCI and agricultural sector

This year’s TOFARM has added a new category – the Woman Farmerin the annual search. “This is to recognize the growing number of women who have carved names for themselves in various agricultural fronts and who have brought recognition to the country through their individual or collective endeavors,” said Rommel Cunanan, TOFARM Project Chairman.

Mr. Ryan C. Ravanzo

Whereas, JCI 2013 National President, Ryan C. Ravanzo stated, “Universal Harvester through its Executive Vice President Milagros Ong-How has been tireless in its efforts to support farmers and educate them on ways to have better yields and results. We are both concerned about the improvement of conditions for the farmer and better urban-rural relations through a keener understanding of agricultural concerns."

Mrs. Milagros Ong-How

During the TOFARM launching held at Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Makati City, the woman with a golden heart, Mrs. Milagros Ong-How also stated, “TOFARM 2012 only scratched the surface in identifying farmers with best practices and extraordinary achievements. In TOFARM 2013 we want to explore new territories and discover other achievers who have not yet been recognized for their contributions to our country. This year, we want to widen the search to include outstanding women farmers. This is probably why we are launching TOFARM 2013 on International Woman’s Month.”

This year's launching at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel with UHI, JCI Executives and
TOFARM 2013 Committee

Mucho Gusto on Chef Gusto's Pizza Pasta Plus!!!

Chef Panos Georgopoulos, owner of Chef Gusto's Pizza Pasta Plus Restaurant holding the Culinary Book with Celebrity Cruises titled, "Excite The Senses" where he was featured.

Hello foodies! I'm back again with another "scrumdiddilyumphus" food and resto experience. The pretty and vibrant Ms. Hershey (muchas gracias!) invited us, the bloggers to a sublime dinner at Chef Gusto's Pizza Pasta Plus Restaurant located at G/F, Concorde Condominium, 200 Salcedo St. cor Benavidez St., Legaspi Village, Makati City.

Familiar? It's Salcedo St. cor. Benavidez St. in Makati City :))

Once you've reached that corner, chances are, you'd be able to check out Chef Panos sitting and conversing with his guests inside the resto. Notice the very homey wooden door. BTW, this is a worry-free area for parking, there are pay parking lots around.

Speaking of "homey," I've recalled Chef Panos telling us that he doesn't treat the people coming in his resto as customers, he proudly conformed to us that, he treats them as guests of the house, instead. Chef Gusto's is like a house where he welcomes and treats his guests. And as evidently seen from the picture, Chef Panos chats and can even do table hopping for his guests to feel at ease and at home. Another good thing about Chef, is that, he has an open menu, meaning to say, you can request a dish which you'd like him to prepare for you and he'll see what he can do about that. He said, "The menu is only a guideline, but me I'm not your appetite, the appetite is yours. We have to be flexible."

The neat, classy and exqusite yet homey interiors of Chef Gusto's; it has the main dining area, then Gastro Chef cooking materials, paraphernalia and wine selection which are also for sale and pastry shop which houses the delectable desserts specially made by Chef's wife, Ivy.

You may consider Chef Gusto's a Mediterranean, Italian or American resto, but one thing's for sure, everything here is authentic (from Australia, U.S.A. & Europe) and fresh according to Chef Panos, "We don't like commissary, we want to cook fresh, so we want the pasta fresh, we want the pizza fresh, the salads fresh, so we want the people to learn cooking and to produce the same way."

Chef Panos is a Greek, he had been in a luxury celebrity cruise for about 16 years, and been married for 4 years now to her very charming and accommodating wife, Ivy; they have a 3 year old son. He had good offers in culinary training centers for seamen but he really felt he wanted to give this business a shot and he believed that the Greek community is very strong and is growing a lot here in the Philippines. Chef Gusto's has been operating for only six months and it was doing very well according to the very bubbly owner and chief cook, Chef Panos. They're planning on putting up another resto somewhere in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Taguig, so watch out for it!

Chef Panos with his Filipina wife, Ivy

And now, I'm so thrilled to give you bits and details of what was served to us that special night...

Starters: Freshly made bread with a traditional eggplant dip but surprisingly, this tasted so good, you wouldn't even guess that it is an eggplant dip :))

Authentic Village Salad: Consists of mixed green lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, bell peppers, black olives, feta cheese, served with lemon or balsamic vinaigrette dressing

This 18" pizza is such a blockbuster! A Must-try for family, friends and colleagues... you'll be amazed! This is a combination of Extreme Meaty Pizza (burger meat, sausage, ham, bacon and mozzarella) and  Cheese Lovers (mozzarella cheese, Danish blue cheese, yellow cheddar cheese, Edam & Parmesan cheese)

See the cheese? Oh I really miss this, want some more!

Traditional Gourmet Sausage with three kinds of dips, a tomato catsup, mustard and their own special mayo dip
For 2 persons- PhP 410.00; For 6 persons- PhP 630.00

Greek Moussaka: It consists of layers of eggplant, potatoes, zucchinis baked with beef sauce to perfection. This recipe is so filling that's why it doesn't need any side dishes. I consider this a healthy vegetable lasagna :))

Combination Fried Tempura Platter: Fried shrimp, Fried squid, Fried fish with potato chips, Garlic and spicy tomato dips
PhP 425

Grilled Mediterranean Chicken with Fries or Pilaf Rice for PhP 290

Tartufo Pasta: My forever favorite pasta! It consists of several type of fresh mushroom (bottom, porcini, truffles) sauté with garlic and Parmesan cheese

Creamy Seafood Pasta - Shrimps, fish fillet, mussels, calamari sauté with garlic and mix with creamy delicious white sauce

By this time, we were so filled up to our bellies hihi, good thing Chef had offered us their wine which even made our dining experience super fine and excellent!

Santa Luz White and Red Wine, perfect for fine dining

So you think we had enough? Nah ah! Chef Panos and Ivy wouldn't let us leave without munching on their self-made milk and brown chocolate with nuts. Am pretty sure, you'd really go nuts on this, why? As a chocolate lover, I've a sweet tooth for this; it was so deliciously made, with the right sweetness and it was so creamy!

Another mouth-watering dessert, Blueberry Cheesecake

We even got to take home some of Ivy's homemade desserts, for me, I got Oreo Cheesecake which was a big blast in our home. Everyone loved your cheesecake, Ivy!

Our over-all dining experience at Chef Gusto's Pizza Pasta Plus was so fulfilling, not only to our appetite but also to our own personal satisfaction and heart's content. Chef Panos, his wife Ivy and the whole staff were very accommodating and friendly, everyone's being treated as house guests.

As Chef Panos say, "For me you are a guest. So, if I invite you in my house, I will make sure, I will wash and will clean my house, then I will cook what is favorite for you because you're my guest, then I will make sure I will have a nice ambiance and music. The same principle applies, we invite you, we advertise,   we invite you to come, so we need to be polite and willing to serve what you would like."

Dining at Chef Gusto's is also worth remembering and sharing. That's why, I'm sharing them all with you.  I'd really love to comeback to this awesome "homey" resto.

It was a "Mucho Gusto" dining experience only at Chef Gusto's Pizza Pasta Plus Resto!!!

KathNiel's "Must Be... Love," a Blockbuster Movie to Date

Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla during "Must Be Love" blogcon

Philippines' most celebrated and ultimate teen-age love team, "KathNiel," had finally met their stardom via their first full-length solo movie together, "Must Be... Love," under Star Cinema productions. Fans and supporters of this popular love tandem must be so thrilled and excited to watch their celebrity icons on silver screen on March 13, 2013, Wednesday.

I first met Daniel Padilla, February of last year, during his exclusive photo shoot for BUM Equipment, along with his co-celebrity endorsers, Empress Schultz, Dino Guevarra and Bea Binene. He was just a simple boy-next-door type that time. Then our next meet and one on one interview with him happened again last July, 2012.

I called Daniel to smile on my cam, he was busy texting and I wondered who could that be.... hmmm... :))

This was taken last year during his photo shoot for BUM

Since then, he had even gone a long, long way! Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla is now the country's no. 1 teenage love team to boot! During the "Must Be... Love," blog conference, if only you could see what my eyes could see, you would really "feel" their "sweetness, and the "care" that they share together, especially every time their twinkling eyes meet. :))

OMG! This MUST BE... LOVE!!! :))

Direk Dado Lumibao and Kathryn shared their funny and different experience while filming "Must Be... Love" in Cebu. They've all opted not to share and be discreet about any infos on their locations but to their surprise, every time they go on location, huge crowd of fans, supporters and followers flocked to the site and that gave them a hard time to shoot, would you imagine that?! Well, that only proves the "magic" of our favorite "KathNiel" love team.

Sweet KathNiel during the blogcon

Kathryn looking towards Daniel's direction with Direk Dado Lumibao seated beside her

Direk Dado also told us that, a lot of people were asking him, about the magic of "KathNiel" love team, he just simply say, there's no magic in them, they're just being themselves, they're real people and that fans could relate to them.

On the other hand, Kathryn talked about their love team, "Siguro nakikita n'yo na very opposite po kami ni DJ, na may ganun pala talaga na hindi sila nagka-clash, nagki-click din pala pag very opposite. Di'ba si DJ very rockstar, rugged tapos ako makikita mo nandito lang, siguro curious sila 'pag pinagsama kami, 'yung ineterest siguro nila."

One of the pretty faces I've seen in the entertainment industry

Meanwhile, coming from his "Minute to Win It," taping, when Daniel entered the Star Cinema conference room he immediately greeted all the bloggers present and vice-versa, after that, all you can just hear was the clicking sound of the cameras and cellphones. Nobody could utter a single word for about few seconds. It seemed like an angel had went down and cast a spell on us, hahaha. It was so awkward that time but Daniel managed to break the ice by saying, "Game!"

Daniel "DJ" Padilla when he entered the Star Cinema conference room

"KathNiel" readily posed for us, such an awesome tandem!

From the story, Kathryn plays "Patchot", a boyish type of girl who plays, teases, and goes along with her school bestfriend, "Ivan" played by Daniel Padilla. Conflicts come when Patchot had suddenly fell for  Ivan, who only treats her as "ka-tropa." The situation even worsen when Ivan met Patchot's cousin, "Angel," played by Liza Soberano (she played Jake Cuenca's younger sister in "Kung Ako'y Iiwan Mo). Ivan, upon seeing Angel, experienced what they call a "slow mo (slow motion)" moment with her. For Ivan, that moment really struck him leaving Patchot disregarded and helpless. Will Patchot be able to handle the whole situation? Would she give up her first love? How would she fight for her rightful feelings?

The movie depicts about the teenage life and how they go about the struggles they encounter especially with regards to their feelings or heart matters. The challenging journey of the youth today was swiftly expressed in the movie, thank you Ms. Melai Mongue, Ms. Vanessa Valdez and Ms. Melissa Chua for always providing a very good material for us to always watch over and look forward to every time
Star Cinema has romantic/ love story or rom/com movie offering.

Kathryn, Direk Dado and Ms. Melai Mongue during the blogcon

"Must Be... Love" movie is also supported by other stars like John Estrada as "King" who plays Kathryn's dad, John Lapus as "Tita Baby," and other casts include Ramon Christopher Gutierrez, Arlene Muhlach, Cacai Bautista, K Brosas, Janus Del Prado as Gordo, Paul Salas, Sharlene San Pedro, Kit Thompson, Miguel Morales and Cris Gabriel Queg.

They'll be having a premiere tonight, at SM Megamall Cinema 7. The soundtrack "Nasa Iyo Na Ang Lahat" is provided by Sam Milby, you can watch the video here!
